favourite thing about being a crown princess.”
“Besides my brother?”
Macee laughed. “Of course, Louis comes first,” she said.
“It's adorable how you call him Louis,” Katherine said and smiled. Only their parents called him by his given name. Everyone else called him Prince Louis or your highness. A maid rushed in to announce the prince's arrival.
“What is happening in here?” Prince Louis asked as he walked in.
“Hello, brother,” Katherine said. He crouched down and kissed Macee.
“I was not feeling well, so I laid here and it helped. Princess Katherine is just keeping me company,” Macee said.
“Macee, you are changing my sister,” Prince Louis said with a smile. It did not surprise him to see his wife lying on the floor but it surprised him to see his sister.
“I am merely helping her break out of her shell.”
“What brings you over?” Katherine asked.
“I am here to check on my wife, is that allowed?” he replied with a smile. He had been in the office all morning and he found that he had missed Macee and wanted to spend time with her.
Chapter 6
L ouis rubbed Macee's belly. He did that when she was not feeling well and it always seemed to help. “You two make a handsome pair,” Katherine said. She rarely saw love present in political marriages, but it was obvious that her brother and Macee really loved each other. They were so adorable.
“We really do,” Prince Louis answered. He was never good at accepting compliments. He had the “prince syndrome” as Macee called it. Princes and rich men always seemed so conceited.
Macee rolled her eyes. “Thank you,” she replied as Katherine sat up.
“I shall leave the two of you alone,” she said.
“You're going already?”
“Yes,” Katherine rubbed Macee's arm. She got to her feet and left Macee's quarters.
“Au revoir,” Louis called out to his sister as she left. He returned his attention to Macee. “Feeling better?” he asked her.
“Yes, I am okay. Strangely, lying on the floor helps. Being pregnant really does make one peculiar.”
“Do not blame the pregnancy,” Prince Louis joked. Macee jerked her head up and frowned at Louis. He smiled and kissed her forehead. “So how is the Global Girls charity event going?” he asked her.
“Everything is almost done,” Macee replied. The event was taking place in a few days. She had been organising it for the past few weeks and it had been hard on her, as she had never done anything like it before and she wanted it to be a success.
“Good to hear that you’re making progress.”
“I should really go check things out but I feel so tired.”
Prince Louis ran his hand through her hair and kissed her forehead. “You should rest,” he said to her. He picked her up and carried her to her bedroom. She caressed his face, as he lowered his head and kissed her.
“Stay,” she whispered and carried on kissing him. Her hormones were in overdrive and she found that she enjoyed kissing much more now than before she was pregnant.
“I thought you said that you were tired?”
Rubbing his chest, “Louis,” she whispered against his lips. “If you make love to me, I might sleep better,” she answered, as she kissed him.
Groaning, he pulled her tightly against him. “Who am I to argue with the hormones of a pregnant woman?”
“Especially when it’s your wife,” Macee replied as she nibbled on his chin.
Lying down next to her, he leaned on his arm as he looked at his wife. Running his fingers across her cheek, he smiled at her, as she unbuttoned his shirt. Kissing his chest, she tugged his shirt out of his waistband. “We have too many clothes on,” she complained, as he laughed.
“Well, then we need to do something about that,” he replied as he sat up to pull his shirt off.
Sitting up, Macee quickly pulled off her clothes as her husband slipped out of his pants. As he sat back down on the bed, Macee pounced on him, as she pushed him down. Laughing, he
