back.
I leaned down and closed my eyes, drawing fistfuls of air into my lungs as I rested my forehead against his. He flinched and chuckled as droplets of sweat rolled down from my temples to land on his cheeks. His hot breath fanned against my face and I could hear the rapid pounding of his heart as I leaned back and opened my eyes to find his already opened and watching me. He smiled shyly at having caught staring.
I grinned and brushed my lips over his wanting to brand him with my touch.
I rocked my hips against his and watched as his ridiculously long lashes fluttered down with a breathy moan then swept back up.
“That was incredible.” His voice was soft, barely above a whisper and I felt something swell in me at the wonder in his voice.
I rubbed my nose against his and smiled. “That was only the prelude.”

“Are you sure you’re going to be okay? I think you should go see a doctor. Maybe you’ve got a twenty-four hour bug or something,” Gabby said worriedly beside me as she rubbed my back.
I opened my mouth to tell her werewolves didn’t get twenty-four hour bugs and that this had been happening way longer than twenty-four hours when I felt the bile raise up again. I dropped my head back over the toilet bowl and emptied the contents of my already emptied stomach. How could water hurt so much coming up?
“Here, take this,” Gabby said as she handed me a damp washcloth.
I took it from her gratefully and wiped my face and mouth with it before pulling down the lid of the seat and flushing away the last five excruciating minutes. I sighed as I laid my cheek against the cool porcelain cover and closed my eyes. Gratefully, I relinquished the washcloth as Gabby tugged it from my weak fingers. There was a wet splat as I pictured her flinging it into the bathtub behind her and then her cool fingers were against my forehead, feeling my temperature and sweeping back the strands of my damp hair.
A few blissful quiet minutes ticked by as I felt my stomach slowly settle. I wasn’t inclined to leave the toilet just yet though and shifted my cheek so it rested on another cool section of the lid.
Gabby’s fingers stroked against my cheek before coming away. “I need to say something and I really think you should hear me out,” she said softly.
I heard something in her voice that made me crack open one eye and look at her. Worry was plastered all over her face, her blue eyes swimming with concern and stubbornness.
“I’m not going to like what you have to say, am I?” The question was rhetorical. I knew right away I wasn’t going to like it.
“You’re going to listen regardless because you know how worried I am about you.”
I lifted my head off the lid and tried to give her a reassuring smile. I’m sure it came out more drained and wan. “I know, Gab. I’m sorry for worrying you. I’m sure this is nothing. I probably ate something bad.” Three days ago . I winced and seeing her sitting determinedly on the cold tile of my bathroom floor I got to my feet and reach down to help her stand as well. She was due in a week and looked as big as a barn. I was smart enough not to tell her that though. “Let’s head into the living room. You shouldn’t be sitting on cold tiles and Kenneth would kill me if he knew. You can tell me whatever you need to say on the couch,” I interjected firmly as she opened her mouth to protest.
We headed into the living room and I left her on the couch as I went and rinsed out my mouth before coming back to take a seat next to her.
“Hey, it can’t be that bad,” I said with a soft smile as I saw her expression. “So what do you want to tell me?”
“I think you’re pregnant.” She winced at the blurted out words that dropped like two-ton rocks between us.
“It’s impossible.” I shook my head and refused to even contemplate what she was saying.
She reached out and took my hand in hers. She gave it a squeeze and wouldn’t
