    I couldn't help but notice how normal David looked when he wasn't in his work clothes. He looked like a GQ model at school. He was in jeans and a plain white t shirt. I wondered how old he was. He didn't look that much older than me. I bet he just graduated college. About 15 minutes later he turned onto a dead end street and pulled in front of a large, beautiful house.
    "This is where you live?" I asked. I was expecting an apartment, or at best a condo. He chuckled. "Yeah, this is where I live. To be fair, it was my parents' house. I got it when they died."

    "Come on inside. Let's get you cleaned up," he said, changing the subject.
    He opened the front door and I almost laughed. This was definitely a bachelor pad. A box of pop tarts, a toaster and a microwave sat on the otherwise appliance free counter. I'd bet that if I opened the freezer, there would be about 30 TV dinners. He showed me to the bathroom. I almost gasped when I looked in the mirror. My eyes were red and bloodshot from crying. My hair was a tangled mess and my jeans had a hole in the knee where I had fallen on the sidewalk.
    I washed my face and ran my fingers through my hair. Once I looked a little better I came out and found him sitting at the kitchen table with two cups of tea. "Here you go," he said. handing me a cup.
    "Thanks."
    "So are you going to tell me what happened?"
    I looked down. The last thing I wanted to do was relive tonight. Especially with a teacher. I decided to give him the short version. "Alex cheated on me."
    He nodded as if that's what he expected me to say. "Well, maybe it's for the best."
    I glared at him. "The best? How is this the best? I'm pretty sure it can't get much worse than this." He pulled his chair closer to me as I sipped my tea. "Because you're too good for him. You haven't even been together that long and he's cheating on you already. At least you found out what kind of person he is before you got too involved. A girl like you doesn't need a boy like that. You need somebody more mature." He put his hand on my thigh. Alarm bells went off in my head. "Mr. Hayes..."
    "Shh," he said, putting his finger to my lips. "Call me David."
    I jumped up. "I think I'm ready to go now. I feel a lot better. It's almost my curfew and my parents are going to wonder where I am." He sat still, staring at me.
    "David," I slurred. "Take me home." Something was wrong.
    I tried to open the door but it was locked. My vision blurred. The last thing I remember was the empty look in Mr. Hayes's eyes before everything went black.

    I woke up in a haze. Nothing looked familiar. I tried to remember where I was but I couldn't think clearly. I tried to move, but my arms wouldn't respond. I looked to my left and screamed. David woke up with a start.
    "Shh, it's ok. Stop screaming."
    I started to hyperventilate. Why couldn't I move my arms? David rolled over on top of me. "You have to calm down. You're going to make yourself sick." I started thrashing.
    "Get off me. Get the fuck off me!" I screamed. He put his hand over my mouth. I tried to slap him. That's when I realized that my hands were tied above my head. I looked down and saw that I was in my bra and panties and David was in his boxers.

    "You need to calm down," he repeated, taking his hand from my mouth. "I'm not going to hurt you."
    I took a deep breath. "Why are you doing this? Just let me go. I promise I won't say anything to anyone."
    He looked at me quizzically. "Let you go? Why would I do that? I've been waiting for this day since the moment I laid eyes on you. You're perfect, Jadia. You're going to be so happy here." He started kissing me. I tried to move my head but he held it in place. "Stop resisting."
    Tears ran down my cheeks. "You said you wouldn't hurt me."
