    “Do you live in A.C.?” she asked and glanced at him as he drove.
    He shook his head and risked a quick peek at her before he returned his attention to the road.  “Margate.  Right next door.  You’ll like it, I promise.”
    Bridget reminded herself that this affair was just for one night and it wasn’t important if she did or didn’t like his house.  He probably had one of those large sterile bachelor kinds of condos, but as he parked in the driveway of a big Victorian-style home a short time later, all her preconceived ideas flew out the window.
    “ This is your house?” she asked, gesturing to it with her hand.
    “It sure is.” He popped out of the driver’s side and hurried around to help her out.
    She slipped her hand into his and they strolled to the front door along a walk lined with flowers whose colors were bright even in the dark of night.  A crisply manicured lawn of deep emerald green blanketed the spacious corner lot.  Across the street there was a playground and beyond that the beach judging from the distant play of moonlight on the ocean.

    “I bought the house about ten years ago and it was in pretty sad shape.  I just finished renovations a couple of months ago,” he said as she stood there admiring his home.
    “You did a beautiful job.”
    He jerked his hand toward the rear of the home and said, “There’s a guest room and full bath in the back.  My mom and dad use it when they come to visit.”
    With a tug on her hand, he led her up the stairs to the second floor.  “There are three bedrooms and two full baths on this level.”
    She peered around in the light from the stairwell, but he didn’t really give her time to inspect, playfully yanking her up another flight of stairs to a third floor.
    “Wow,” she said as they stepped into a vast master bedroom suite.  To the left of the stairs was a sitting area complete with a fireplace framed by a carved wood mantel.  To the right was an immense king-sized bed.
    She shivered as she imagined all they would shortly do in that bed.
    Beyond the bed was a bank of French doors that appeared to lead out onto a balcony. 
    Misinterpreting her response, he said, “Still cold?  Why don’t you take a warm shower to chase away the chill?”
    The thought of a shower didn’t seem all that appealing unless he’d join her there.  “Only if you help me scrub my back.”
    He gulped and a wash of bright color spilled across his cheeks.  With a nod, he said, “I’ll be there in a few minutes.  I just have to get some things ready.”
    She slipped out of his jacket and handed it back to him.  Dragging out her sexy self, she teased, “Don’t keep me waiting too long or I may have to get started without you.”
    The color grew even deeper across his face and a line of sweat erupted along his temple.  “That might be kind of fun to watch.”
