something else?
No matter. She had to get ready for tomorrow.

    *****
Tammy breathed lightly in her costume – freshly laundered since yesterday – and stood before the crowd, just as she'd done the past 2 nights before. She wasn't certain how Malcom would treat her tonight, given what they'd done the night before, but he was strikingly professional, as if he'd never hypnotized her and fucked her right there on that stage floor. In fact, he was downright cordial, and even made casual conversation with her, explaining how he changed his act every six months or so, adding new tricks to keep the show fresh for the regulars.
She wondered if he would do anything at all to her, tonight.
Throughout the first portion of the act she fretted, twisting and twirling her long dark hair in one hand, fidgeting so nervously that Malcolm shot her a warning glare from time to time, when the audience focused on her more than him. It was strange, but the audience hadn't scared her until now.
But with everyone staring at her, they were terrifying.
“You'll have to excuse my lovely assistant,” Malcolm apologized for her at one point. “This is only her third night on the job.” The women in the audience tittered at that. Tammy knew any one of them would give their left foot to be in her position right now. To be so close to Malcolm, the man and magician that they all lusted after. Little did they know.
The knowledge of what Tammy and Malcolm had done together fueled her confidence enough to get through her portion of the act, and gave her the courage to perform the last trick, squirming through the narrow passage to the equally narrow box where she'd been held captive in the last two nights.
And now, here she was in that box, yet again. Malcolm had her in the palm of his hand. All he had to say were two little words.
But he didn't. Tonight, he merely pulled her out of the box, pumping one of her hands with his in the air to the wild applause of the audience, and then forcing her down into a bow with him, as the act normally dictated. Tammy almost thought that tonight, nothing would happen. That yesterday was a total fluke.
Until Malcolm said, “What do you think of a more public performance, my dear?” He murmured the words quietly, barely audible over the roar of the crowd. Tammy froze and stared at the magician, her eyes wide. Surely he wouldn't...
“Secret weapon,” he said, his mouth curling slightly in a sly smile. Tammy immediately froze, unable to move.
He continued to bow, moving in front of Tammy, who was now as still and stiff as a wooden mannequin. The audience was so focused on Malcolm that they didn't seem to notice her sudden stillness. She was trapped though, and felt roaming eyes flow over her flesh. It made her skin prickle, and it wasn't an entirely uncomfortable feeling. She liked being looked at in that way, in fact. And she was safe, up on this stage.
The crowd slowly trickled out of the auditorium now, the show over. Malcolm went to attend to his adoring fans, leaving Tammy alone on the stage. The lights went out, leaving only a few dim emergency lights on. Slowly, the echoing voices dimmed, and then receded entirely. She was truly alone, now. And she still couldn't move.
It amazed her how powerful this hypnotism was. Was it just her mind that made it so powerful?
Or was Malcolm truly gifted? She tried with all her might to lift an arm, a hand, even a finger, but her body simply wouldn't obey her.
    It would obey Malcolm, though.
She heard him first; the soft padding of footsteps approaching her from behind on the silent cold stage now, and the low chuckle of his voice.

“Trapped again, I see,” he said, stating the obvious. Tammy nearly wanted to snort at him, but she could scarcely even breathe. “Turn around,” he commanded.
To Tammy's non-surprise, she found her body obeying. She took short, shuffling steps, and did a complete 180, turning to face Malcolm now. He looked just as he had
