he said.
Jada couldn’t help but laugh. “Brandon Heller. Businessman. Player. Nature child.”
“Hey, that’s not fair.”
Jada smiled. “I appreciate your walking me back, Brandon. I really do.”
“Since we’re going this way, you want take the Rock Springs Trail?”
The Rock Springs Trail. Just the thought of it sent a quiet jolt of excitement through her. The trail wasn’t far down the road from them, and in addition to being a shortcut to town, it was Wild Summit’s very own lovers’ lane. In high school, the trail was the place to bring your sweetheart. Jada hadn’t had a boyfriend in high school so she hadn’t gone there, and though she’d had plenty of boyfriends since, she hadn’t brought them there, either. It was just too personal, too… romantic . But right now, she thought, right now, in the spirit of letting bygones be bygones, might be the perfect time to visit it.
“Why not?” Jada said.
Brandon smiled. Then he interlaced his fingers with hers and they continued off the road and through the pines. Jada’s heart skipped a beat as Brandon squeezed her hand. Was she really going to do this? Yes, she thought. Life is too short to hold grudges . It was beautiful in the forest, the early spring sunshine casting its dappled light through the pine trees. She felt the years of resentment slowly lift. She felt like she was a teenager again. Excited. Free.
“You know, there’s a hot spring just up here,” Brandon said.
“So I’ve heard.”
Brandon smiled at her. “Too bad we didn’t remember our suits.”
Jada stared into his cerulean blue eyes. What the hell. She was tired of living safely. Why not go with it? “Are you sure we need them?” she asked.
“I’m good if you are,” Brandon said, swinging her hand in his. Jada could feel the arousal burning within her core, heat rising to the surface. She fought the feeling back down. Take it easy, Jada. No use getting ahead of yourself . They walked a little farther until they reached the edge of the bubbling spring.
“Shall we?” Brandon said.
“Shall we what?”
“Swim?”
“If that’s what you want,” Jada said.
“Oh, Jada. I want a lot more than that. I want your eyes and your brains and your beautiful lips. I want your hips and your breasts and your curves. I want your heart.”
Jada felt a thrill of excitement from deep within. “And what else do you want?” she asked. Her flesh flushed as he turned her toward a rough pine, leaning her back against the tree trunk, his body on hers.
“Everything, ” Brandon said.
Jada felt Brandon’s hardness pressing between her thighs. “Everything?” she said.
“Everything and more.”
Brandon looked her deep in the eyes, and in that moment, his lips met hers.
Chapter Three
Jada surrendered herself to the moment. She couldn’t believe it was actually happening. Brandon. The Brandon from her youth. The Brandon from her dreams. And here he was, with her, now. Jada’s mouth opened, ready for him, and their tongues touched.
The feeling was electric. Probing. Exquisite.
She felt his strong hands caress the skin under her blouse. They moved up, cupping her flesh, all the time his tongue probing harder, deeper.
She found herself wiggling her hips under his powerful body. The hard bar of his manhood made her feel delirious as it pressed between her legs. Then, he pulled his lips from hers.
“Dip?”
“Ready when you are,” Jada managed to croak out.
Brandon yanked his shirt over his shoulders. His muscled chest glistened in the soft sunlight, shadows falling across his rock-hard abs. Then he turned from her and removed his pants, reaching behind him and pulling Jada near. She didn’t bother taking off her skirt, she didn’t bother doing anything except kicking off her platform heels and following him into the hot pool.
The water was warm, sensual to the touch, and Brandon sat her on the rocky ledge, her legs dangling into the spring. Jada felt the pleasure
