from outside is very deceiving.
In the bar, there’s a few men either sitting alone or clustered together. They give us a cursory glance, but I’m not getting any ‘rape and kill you’ kind of vibes, so I guess I’m going to be ok. I don’t know why I’m so worried. I guess it’s because the only bikers I’ve ever known, have been the ones on TV, and they’re always bad guys. So far though, they seem a hell of a lot nicer than the drug dealers I’m used to.
“Hey Pip, I’ve brought you some help for the day. Carla and Prez’s daughter, Maddie, she gonna earn her place in the club.”
“Great. It’s nice to meet you Maddie. You worked in a bar before?” Pip asks, her long brown hair braided down her back as she pulls a beer for a member with a shiny shaved head and a black goatee. He has the club emblem tattooed at the base of his skull (Now, that’s dedication).
“No. To be honest, I’ve never really had a real job before.”
“Whoa!” she laughs. “We’ve got ourselves a virgin boys. Best be nice to her or the ladies won’t be warmin' ya beds tonight,” she teases.
“We’ll be real gentle,” a deep rumbly voice says from behind me, sending shivers up my spine and causing my body to react in ways I don’t want it to. I’m starting to see this as a clean break from my old life. The start of a new one. I don’t need to get mixed up with one of my father’s men and risk ruining it all.
I turn toward Cole, keeping my expression as even as I can.
“Can I be the one to pop your cherry?” he murmurs, leaning in so he’s talking right next to my ear. I shiver. I fucking shiver. His velvet voice just entered my ears and fucked me internally. Great. Now I need a change of underwear.
“Sure. What’ll it be?" I see the amused look on both Pip and Cora’s face, as I wander around the bar and position myself as though I know what I’m doing.
“A pot of draught.” He grins, and I can see by his expression that he knows I don’t have a clue what he’s asking for.
Pip comes and stands beside me, pointing out the correct glass and which tap I’m to pull. “Pull down fast and tilt the glass,” she instructs.
I try to do as she says, but I obviously don’t do it right and the end result is a glass half full of foam.
“Done,” I smile, slapping it down on the bar in front of him, pretending like I just pulled the best beer ever.
Pip just laughs and walks down the bar to serve someone else, leaving me with Cole and his gorgeous eyes, his devastating smile, his… shut up! I yell inside my head, telling my brain to be quiet.
He just keeps grinning at me, like he knows exactly what’s going on inside my head as he tries to sip at his beer through the foam.
“You spoken for?” he asks suddenly.
“Am I what?” I ask, genuinely confused.
“Spoken for. Claimed. Attached to someone. Do you have a man?” he clarifies.
“Why do you want to know?”
    “Curious is all.”
    “Curious?”
He nods, keeping his eyes on me as he once again struggles to sip his beer.
“For Christ’s sake. Stop trying to drink that. It’s all foam.” I grab his glass away from him and tip it down the sink, holding it under the beer tap on more of an angle this time as I pull the beer again.
“Ah see. It’s always better the second time.” He winks at me, his blue eyes sparkling mischievously as he takes a drink.
Rolling my eyes, I walk away from him and head over to Pip who is finishing serving someone else. Once she’s done, she gives me a quick tour of where everything is and how to work the dishwasher, telling me that normally, one of the other girls helps her, but she’s fallen pregnant and has terrible morning sickness.
Cole sits and watches me the entire time. “Don’t you have something more interesting you could be doing right now?” I ask him after a while.
    “Nope ,” he replies immediately.
“Do you think you could stop staring at me? It’s kind of weird. ”
    He narrows
