at the opposite end and placing his feet on the coffee table. “Serge, one of my Wolves, is there with another three or four and keeping an eye on the entrance. We know that there is definitely dark magic involved but we don’t know exactly how many Witches may be inside or the layout. Once we get there, I was thinking...”
Josef butted in, a frown on his face, “How do we get to where your men are? I don’t want Peri traipsing through the Rockies, it’s far too cold and treacherous.”
Ronan nodded, “I agree, we’re flying into an airstrip not too far from Serge, and Esther, our Head Witch, is coming to teach Peri a ‘moving’ spell. We’re hoping that once we land, they can then perform this spell and get us to where Serge is hiding out. From there, it’s only a short journey on foot to the cavern. I’ve got men all ready and set to go and we’ll have both Peri and Esther to take care of the magic side of things. We’re also taking Esther’s assistant, Celeste, who you may find a little...strange. However, Esther assures me that she is very adept in healing magic and we may require her to help with the Dragon, as we have no idea what kind of state we’re going to find it in. We don’t know how long they’ve had it, exactly, but we are pretty sure it’s not gonna be healthy.”
Gabe growled and Ronan turned to look at him, the Wolf looking angry and uneasy. “What’s up, Gabe?”
Ronan watched while Gabe shook his head as if trying to regain some control over his beast before he answered. “Dark magic, I’ve had enough of that to last me a lifetime and the thought of anyone imprisoning any beast just to use it to gain power for themselves, makes me mad as hell.”
Josef smiled down at his friend, “I know, Gabe, but we’re here to help release the beast and we can only hope we’re in time to save it. Regarding the dark magic, I’m afraid I have to agree with my young Wolf here. I had hoped never to come in contact with it again.”
Ronan got up, walking to the door and opening it, hearing both the elevator and Esther’s soft footfalls. “Hello, Esther, come in and let me introduce you to...”
Esther entered and stopped just short of the seating area. “It’s okay, Ronan, I’ve met both of these gentlemen before, remember? However, it’s nice to meet you both under not quite as dire circumstances.”
Josef nodded and Gabe smiled, a cheeky look on his face. “At least I’ve got clothes on this time, too.”
Esther actually chuckled before turning back to Ronan. “Where’s Peri? I would like to get started as quickly as possible.”
Ronan pointed down the hallway. “Spare room, she’s feeding the baby and doing something called ‘expressing’ which I have no idea about, but she said she needed to do it before we left.”
Esther chuckled again, muttering under her breath as she walked away, “Men!”

Peri was still expressing some milk for little Josef as Esther entered the bedroom. She smiled at the older woman and continued on, no hint of embarrassment at all. Starr was holding the baby and cooing into his face as he pulled on her hair. When she saw Esther she laughed, “Don’t tell anyone, I’ve got a rep to protect.”
Esther chuckled before putting all of her attention on Peri. “Hello, Peri, I’m not sure if you remember me? We didn’t have time for introductions the last time, I’m Esther.”
Peri smiled and continued what she was doing. “Of course I remember you and I would like to say thank you for what you did for us that day. It was kind of you to help us, Esther. I’m Peri.”
Esther moved closer to Starr, smiling down at the baby that was still tugging on her hair. “No need to thank me, after all, it was you that defeated the Witch, not me.”
As the young Witch finished procuring her milk for the baby, she nodded once, a sad smile on her face. “Yes, but you gave my men the opportunity to get to me and then Josef made me drink
