said excitedly.
Draylon laughed out loud. “OK! A little more money wouldn’t hurt, but who gets to choose the car? More importantly, who gets to drive the car?”
â€œWell I believe I should choose the car being an earthling and knowing more about cars than you, but we could take it in turns driving if you’d like?”
â€œThat sounds fair. I think we should try Planet Hollywood casino today,” said Draylon whilst finishing off his bagel.
â€œPlanet Hollywood it is. I can’t wait to get a car, hey – maybe we could go towards Area 51, it’s only a few hours from here, I believe.”
â€œYou bet, so long as you promise not to hand me in.”
They finished their breakfast and exited the hotel admiring the fifty-foot Italian cypresses at the entrance as they left. They made their way to Planet Hollywood casino, it was a beautiful day, with not a cloud in the sky, and already the streets were bustling with people. They arrived and were in awe of its nearly three acres of casino. Paul imagined that these places must make a fortune out of people’s misfortunes. Draylon decided on a slot machine again so as to avoid drawing too much attention to himself. He put in ten dollars, used his technopathy, and that ten became a hundred, then a thousand. He decided to stop just short of fifty thousand. The accumulative monies now were just over one hundred thousand dollars left. Paul couldn’t believe how easy it was. He suggested making a couple of million and retiring. Draylon laughed, saying that although it was a nice idea, a casino was a business. Although it seemed a little immoral at times, people did choose to gamble. He was content with what they had won and suggested doing a little clothes shopping.
They decided to shop for clothes in the Planet Hollywood miracle mile. They found a great store full of jeans, T-shirts, shirts, shoes, and trainers – basically everything that either of them could hope for. They spent almost an hour in there trying on clothes and looking about. Paul eventually decided on a smart black fitted shirt, two decorated black T-shirts and some black Doc Martens shoes. Draylon chose three T-shirts, a black, a red, and a blue one. He also chose a new pair of jeans and some Nike trainers. They paid for their new clothes and then decided to get refreshments. They found a nice café outside on The Strip. Draylon ordered two lattes and a cheese sandwich; Paul ordered a pint of lager and a packet of crisps.
Paul said that he quite fancied hiring an American muscle car and could hardly wait; he looked forward to a bit of power after driving his one-litre Suzuki Alto for seven years. Draylon suggested a yellow one and laughed. Paul said that there was nothing wrong with yellow – it was a happy colour, but said he quite liked the idea of a red or maybe a black one. They paid and tipped the waiter and asked about any hire car companies nearby. The waiter gave them directions to Joe’s Car Hire. They thanked him and made their way to the hire company, a couple of miles off The Strip.
They arrived at Joe’s. There was an extraordinary selection of large American muscle cars. Paul immediately fell in love with the new 2011 race red Ford Mustang GT.
â€œThis is it, this is the one, let’s get it.” Paul found it hard to contain his excitement. Adrenalin started to course his body at the thought of driving such an attractive, powerful machine.
Draylon smiled at Paul’s enthusiasm. “OK! I think we should get it for a week. We could go to the outskirts of Area 51, come back to Vegas and then head off to Roswell. I’d like to go to Roswell, what do you think?”
â€œSound’s perfect! Let’s go find Joe.”
They found Joe in the showroom and asked him if the race red Mustang was available for rental for one week. Joe said that it was available but it wasn’t cheap. Paul told him they would take it. Paul
