always have the upper hand.

Our living room has two leather sofa and four chairs, all of them positioned around a fancy glass table. Although they are “fashion” pieces, the furniture is actually quite comfortable and the view of night-time Manhattan always inspires me. If I want to stay awake, this is the best room for it.

Laying on one of the sofas, I let the coolness of the leather dissolve under my weight. As I get comfortable, I tap the Samsung’s screen and pick up where I left off.

    3:30pm:
Sorry for dropping in on you unannounced last night. You can tell I had a little too much to drink.
    ------------------------------------------
    Jake
    3:33pm:
No prob. You can tell I had nothing else going on.
    ------------------------------------------
    3:34pm:
LOL. I’m happy you were home.
    ------------------------------------------
    Jake
    3:35pm:
    I’m happy you stopped in.

    3:37pm:
How are you feeling now? Still have the headache?
    ------------------------------------------
    3:37pm:
The headache’s gone. I think you fixed that for me before I left ; )

    3:42pm:
    Still there, Jake?
    ------------------------------------------
    Jake
    3:45pm:
We need to talk. You available for a quick phone chat?
    ------------------------------------------
    3:49pm:
    Always.
    ------------------------------------------
    Jake
    3:49pm:
    Calling.

    8:49pm:
    Sorry about that rambling earlier.
    ------------------------------------------
    8:50pm:
    It’s fine. I get it.
    ------------------------------------------
    Jake
    8:51pm:
I know the RULES were laid out in plain English. I just never thought it would happen. Especially with my Christine issues still unresolved. Know what I mean?
    ------------------------------------------
    9:00pm:
Jake, do you remember that second night when you had me over? I couldn’t stay the whole night, so it was a quick dinner and then straight to the bedroom?
    ------------------------------------------
    Jake
    9:01pm:
I believe that was when you compared me to riding a smelly subway.
    ------------------------------------------
    9:02pm:
You actually said I was poetic, Nerd!

    9:02pm:
Anyway, I remember lying with you on your bed that night, it was right after that time when you made love to me while holding my ankles over your head. Anyway, we were just lying in your bed after. My chest was pressed up against your side and I hung my numb leg over yours. It was that part where, in movies, the girl lights a cigarette and blows the smoke in your face.
    ------------------------------------------
    Jake
    9:03pm:
Of course I remember that night, that exact moment. I remember your hair in my face, it was a bouquet of the sweetest aromas I have ever breathed. You’re trying to get me worked up now, aren’t you?
    ------------------------------------------
    9:03pm:
    No.

    9:04pm:
    Well, maybe a little.
    ------------------------------------------
    Jake
    9:04pm:
It’s working. You have the most perfect toes and that black nail polish you were wearing was pretty hot.
    ------------------------------------------
    9:05pm:
LOL , I have gecko toes! They’re ugly and I didn’t know you had a toe fetish. Perv.

    9:05pm:
Anyway, I was totally ready to leave and come home once I calmed myself down, but then you slid out from underneath me and at first I wondered wtf are you doing.
    ------------------------------------------
    Jake
    9:07pm:
Did you like what happened next?
    ------------------------------------------
    9:08pm:
Yes! I loved it! When you dragged your finger from my ankle all the way up to the inside of my knee, I had to close my eyes and do everything in my power just to breathe.
    ------------------------------------------
    Jake
    9:09pm:
I just wanted to touch you. Your skin is so soft.
    ------------------------------------------
    9:10pm:
And w hen your finger crossed over my knee and traced its way up to my
