would go unnoticed. ‘Boom’ Phoenix jumped when she heard the front door slam, that let her know her uncle Gregory was home and he was drunk. “Please God don’t let him come in here, please God” Phoenix prayed silently as her heart began to pound harder.
“Phoenix you in here?” Gregory shouted as he slurred his words. Phoenix didn’t say a word, instead she lay as she still as possible, hopping that would make him go away. “You sleep girl?” he asked as he nudge her roughly, Phoenix still didn’t move. After a few seconds Phoenix heard his footsteps move back towards the door and the door slam close. ‘Whew’ she thought as she let out a sigh of relief but that was short lived when she heard her door open and close again loudly. “Ion give a fuck if you sleep or not, you gonna give me this pussy” Gregory said as he roughly snatched the covers off of Phoenix.
“Uncle Greg please don’t do this!” Phoenix begged as tears began to stream down her little face. But her cries fell upon deaf ears because Gregory roughly pulled at her pajamas and panties until they both tore off of her. Phoenix continued to pray hoping someone would come and stop what he was doing to her little body, but no one never showed.
“Don’t fight it” Gregory said as he roughly entered Phoenix. Phoenix could smell the liquor all over him, and it made her sick to her stomach along with the fact that she was being raped. ‘Please let him hurry up’ Phoenix thought to herself as she lay there, as tears fell from the corners of her eyes.
‘Boom, Boom, Boom’ Gregory jumped out of her when she heard someone banging on her door; she was dripping in sweat because she was once again being haunted about her childhood in her dream. ‘Boom, Boom, Boom’ the knocking continued.
“I’m coming, I’m coming” Phoenix repeated as she jumped out of the bed and headed to the front door. Without asking who it was she snatched the front door open “Mariah?” asked surprised, because she could see Mariah was pissed by her body language.
“Don’t Mariah me, where the hell have you been?” Mariah asked sounding like the concerned best friend she was.
“Why don’t you come in Mariah” Phoenix said wiping the sleep out of her eyes.
“Phoenix what’s up, what’s going on?” Mariah asked as she stepped inside the house.
“Nothing’s going on Mariah” Phoenix lied as she walked further into her small apartment.
“Phoenix I aint never been one to beat around the bush with no one and honestly I am not about to start now.” Mariah said as she made perfect eye contact with Phoenix. “Please tell me it’s not true that you been hanging with Geno?” Mariah said more so than asking.
“So what if I have?” Phoenix asked shrugging her shoulders hating the fact that she was even defending the situation.
“What do you mean what if you are? Do you know what he does Phoenix? You know what don’t answer that” Mariah said putting up her hand and taking a deep breath. “Phoenix I know you are grown and you are having a hard time dealing with your bills and things, but is dealing with Geno really worth it all?” Mariah asked confused.
“Mariah can you just mind your own business.” Phoenix spoke before thinking and now she wish she hadn’t said it.
Mariah was surprised that Phoenix had said that and the way she had said it really shocked her, but Phoenix was grown and there was really nothing she could do about it. “Fine” Mariah said with a wave of her hand and then she continued “what are you doing today, I haven’t hung out with you in a while and I really would like to” Mariah said honestly.
Phoenix looked around nervously before she spoke “I would really love to hang out with you, but I can’t today because I have to work, maybe next week sometime, I will call you” Phoenix said with a fake smile.
Mariah got up, and headed for the door but stopped in her tracks when she remembered something “wait how
