Mayor Hubble.
âWhat if we donât have to go?â asked Ryan.
âWe all have to go,â said Mayor Hubble.
âAt the same time?â asked Michael.
âI donât have to go,â I said.
âMe neither,â said Alexia.
âI just went a few minutes ago,â said Emily.
âIâll go later,â said Neil the nude kid.
Well, thatâs pretty much what happened. Maybe the teachers will get out of jail soon. Maybe weâll publish another edition of The Ella Mentry Sentry . Maybe Mrs. Lilly will stop grabbing peopleâs eyeballs. Maybe Tony Eagle will stop running into doors. Maybe theyâll get that tree out of Mayor Hubbleâs bathroom. Maybe Andrea will explode. Maybe Mr. Klutz will stop pulling his pants down in school. Maybe weâll all get invited to one of Mrs. Yonkersâs barbecues. Maybe Mr. Macky will stop kissing his wife in public. Maybe everybody will stop having to go all the time. Maybe weâll finally get through page twenty-three in our math books.
But it wonât be easy!
