looked like he wanted to say something
but then closed his lips and just held out his hand for a cigarette
in that ever-present needy gesture. Dom didn’t put the cig in his
hand, instead pushing one more between those perfect lips and
reaching up with the lighter.
Seth didn’t seem to mind and bent toward the
flame. “At least I got something in my mouth,” he teased as they
walked.
“Believe me, if you find an excuse to invite
me to your room for twenty minutes, you will get much more.”
Domenico inhaled the smoke, already feeling its calming warmth
spread through his body. It was exactly what he needed.
They could see the villa’s terrace from afar
and Luigi’s lone figure at a table with a parasol. “I have to be
careful then and never invite the big bad wolf.”
“We’ll see how long you’ll last without
feeling my breath on your nape,” Dom said with a grin. As much as
he admired Luigi, loved him like a father, he still couldn’t get
over the fact that it was his fault he couldn’t fuck Seth.
If Seth sucking in so much smoke he started
choking was any indication, Dom had hit the nail on the head. It
took a while for Seth to compose himself and wipe the tears away.
“We’ll see,” he choked out, but it didn’t sound like much of a
threat. Seth’s self-control had a lot to live up to.
“Just remember what I told you. Don’t get
killed while I’m not with you. Can you promise me that?”
Seth took a deep breath of smoke and kicked
some rocks. “I’ll drink only bottled water. You can’t have me dead
before that blow job, right?”
“Good thinking,” said Dom, but he was already
wary of Luigi overhearing them, so he raised his hand in greeting
as he approached his mentor’s stocky figure.
“Good evening, Mr. Tassa,” Seth said as they
got closer, and Luigi scrutinized them both, his squint making his
skin more wrinkly around the eyes.
    “Good evening.”
“Mr. Villani.” Domenico nodded at Seth with a
polite smile, already turning his body toward Luigi.
Seth just gave them one more curt nod before
walking off, the back of his bulky body covered in dirt. Domenico
wanted to slap himself for not reminding Seth to clean himself, but
it was already a lost cause.
Luigi sat in a white cast iron chair by the
table and grabbed himself an apple from a bowl of fruit. Domenico
didn’t waste time and joined him.
    “You summoned me.”
“Something interesting in the barn?” Luigi
leaned closer and picked a bit of hay off Dom’s shoulder before
returning to peeling his apple.
Domenico cleared his throat and smiled at the
memory of his almost-blow job. “Ah, we were wrestling.”
“Good, he’s big, but lacks the skill. Though
I can imagine he’s learned a lot in Berlin?”
“Yes.” Domenico looked at the door where Seth
entered the house and sighed. “Though he is still rather hopeless.
He keeps forgetting how to properly handle the gun, so he needs
much more training.”
“I suppose that’s only fair.” Luigi shook
his head. “I didn’t think it would be the case with Seth’s wedding
coming up, but you’ll be both shipped off to New York soon. At the
beginning of December most probably.”
Domenico’s head emptied, and there was a
slight tingling in his temples. Might have been because most of the
blood flew south at the mere thought of being alone with Seth
again. “I believe that is a good start. He will have enough time
with his wife later, but it’s crucial that he knows the
business”
“I doubt there will be much to do at first,
but it will be a good time to keep him training for the future.
There might be a hit coming in New York City that you’ll need to
take care of, but generally, I thought you could use the holiday
after Berlin. Even if you’d have to share the time with Seth.”
“With the rat eliminated, that shouldn’t be
a problem,” said Domenico. He’d advised Seth not to mention the
Chinese to anyone, and he didn’t do it himself. Not even
