Logan is in love.”
Logan, however, didn’t buy into her teasing. Just the opposite, he stoically agreed. “I think I am. I mean, I don’t know much about it and she is the only girl not related or part of this place I have met and gotten to know, but yeah. I think I am in love with her. She is sweet, kind, gentle. There is something about her that draws me to her. It’s hard to explain, but one day you will understand.”
Trinity watched him closely. She had never seen such a look of bliss on her brother’s face. She could tell he was totally serious about this woman.
“And you don’t know anything else about her? Why hasn’t she told you more of who she is?”
“She is afraid of others finding out she comes here. She says if they knew, they would come for her here and she could die as a result. You can’t tell anyone, Trin. If anyone found out, if Mom or Dad learned she came here, it would be bad. Very, very bad.”
“I understand, Logan. I am not stupid. Besides, if I tell others about her, like Mom or Papa, you won’t take me to Faedardom. I won’t say anything. I promise.”
“Fine then. I’ll take you to the realm when it’s safe to go. You know, when Dad is at a meeting and Mom is busy with the garden or some other chore.”
“Fair enough,” she said as she skipped out of his room, content she had gotten her way.
Now, Trinity has been taken from the same garden where he had his trysts with Jasmine. If someone else saw Jasmine there, someone other than Trinity, they could have assumed she would be on her way today. This would have been the right amount of time and, in actuality, Jasmine was supposed to arrive today for another clandestine visit. He knew from their previous meeting her plans today would be later than normal. She thought she might be delayed due to not being able to get away without notice, although she didn’t specify why. He could only assume Trinity headed out to the garden at their normal rendezvous time to meet her, only to be taken.
Looking up, Logan realized the two women were still talking and his mother was becoming extremely anxious. He had to tell her the truth. He had to let her know about Jasmine, yet honestly he was terrified to do so. His little sister was gone, taken, and Jasmine could be, would be, next. As he gathered up the courage to, Clarissa and Shara sped out of his room and down the corridors to the infirmary. He rushed after the two women, his adrenaline high, his nerves taut. He was going to have a lot of explaining to do and he was not sure he was going to be able to do so to their satisfaction. Especially since, despite how much time over the past five years he had spent with Jasmine, he really didn’t know anything personal about her: no last name, no family relations, no mutual associations. Hell, he wasn’t even sure what kind of being she truly was.
Logan reached the doorway of the infirmary, something which was only as old as he was. Azamel never felt he needed one before Clarissa came. Demons either healed or died, it was the way of the world. However, Clarissa showed him a necessity, for herself and their children, should they require it. Plus, it was humane to have one for those who served him in the hunt and protection of the world. Mel relented to the woman he loved and had the most up-to-date infirmary established within the confines of his manor.
Most days the infirmary saw little to no action, but there were times, such as now, where it was a hustle-and-bustle of flourishing activity. Logan’s mother and Shara entered only moments before he reached the threshold. Santanya was already there, holding Zenthus’ fingers and leaning over him, brushing his hair back with her other hand, whispering softly to him.
Santanya looked up when the door opened for Shara and Clarissa, but instead of running and hiding as she normally would have done, she stood up and faced the small group, still holding Zenthus’ appendages.
    Clarissa peered
