caresses. Lust had filled Julian’s gaze, and Carr was hungry for more. Much more. And now he wasn’t allowed to touch him, all thanks to his son of a bitch cousin.
Carr wasn’t sure what it was about the human that had him so intrigued and utterly fascinated. It was simply a human, a man with flaws. A young male, much too young for a two and a half century old demon prince. A fit, seductive male who’d been on Carr’s mind since the moment he’d seen Julian a month before in Las Vegas.
A male who may be Carr’s eternal mate. Olivier had apparently guessed the same. It had to be the reason his cousin used Julian against him now.
Looking at his cards, he noticed his hands shook slightly. When he looked up, Olivier was sitting there watching as well, a smirk on his face.
“Let’s get the game over,” Carr grated out.
“Indeed,” Olivier answered.

Julian walked out of the bathroom with one of the promoters’ secretaries chasing after him.
“Mr. McNamara, we still have a couple of pictures we’d like to get if you’re well enough.”
Julian stopped and looked at the man. “How long was I in the restroom?”
The guy shrugged after looking thoughtful a moment. “I don’t know. Maybe fifteen minutes?”
Fifteen minutes? There was no way. Was he on some kind of acid trip? Had someone slipped him a mickey and he was gliding high? Or maybe this was just a unique side effect of having the big C. He certainly couldn’t blame it on the meds, at least not yet. He hadn’t begun treatment yet, so this couldn’t be attributed to some weird side effect.
Julian stomped over to the large check sitting there waiting for him. He wasn’t sure what was going on, but he was taking that check if it only meant he could get better. There was no way he was going to tell the promoters that he may or may not have cheated because he thought he may or may not have sold his soul to a demon named Olivier and then just been jerked off by another one, all while in a room in Downtown Hell.
No, he’d quietly take his check home and call his doctor. But if he was hallucinating, Julian wasn’t completely sure he wanted them to stop. His body still felt the effects of Carreau’s touch, and he yearned for more.
Be it a dream or not, Julian was obsessed.
His cock grew hard again, ready for more of the demon’s touch. Julian shook his head, ready to go home and away from all the prying eyes. He felt like everyone in the room stared at him, knew he’d just had a sexual experience with a hunky demon who also happened to be male.
Julian was past confused. But the one thing that was constant was his need. He focused on that need and let the rest slip away. Somehow, he sensed Carr would be the rock he’d hold on to in the future, or he might get washed away into the abyss.

Hours later, Carr leaned against the corner of Julian’s room, watching the human sleep. He’d sent the man back to Earth’s dimension, knowing he’d step across the line if he didn’t. Now knowing he’d lost his one chance to taste and fuck the man, Carr felt he’d had his opportunity stolen.
Just take him. Crawl into his bed and take what you want. The human wanted you, just take him.
Carr wasn’t his cousin. Olivier would sneak in and take exactly what he wanted and not worry about explaining himself to anyone. Carr was different. He’d kept a tight hold on the peace between dimensions for nearly a thousand years, and he wasn’t letting chaos rule once more. If he broke this rule, it would allow Olivier to break one, too.
When Olivier broke rules, it was never easy picking up the pieces. Carr scrubbed a hand over his face and walked away from the human.
“Carreau?”
Damn it. Carr froze in the doorway, his back to the human. He needed to go. He wanted to stay. He finally succumbed to the need and turned to face the man. “Yes,
