your room later in the afternoon. We could order room service and a movie and just hang?” He wanted to spend the entire day with her, but he was in Vegas on business and needed to get some work done.
“That would be perfect. This way I won’t have to make another trip to the boutique.”
“As much as I’d love to stay locked up in this room with you babe, we are going to go out again, and you will have to go back to the boutique. However, I’ll go with you next time.”
Without an argument, she walked up to Marcus and planted a quick kiss on his cheek. “Fine.”
He reached for the door, and turned to her. “Get a good night’s sleep. You’re going to need the energy tomorrow.” Then he was gone.
Sydney went to bed wishing she had packed her vibrator.
As soon as Marcus returned to his own suite, he stripped naked, got into the shower, and beat off to the memories of the evening.
CHAPTER four
Wow, it‘s noon already. Sydney had slept the entire morning away. Memories of last night flooded back. I am in Las Vegas, right? Magical things only happen when you’re at Disney. Holy Shit! What did I almost do? She couldn’t help but notice that she almost felt happy. She hadn’t felt this way in a very long time.
After climbing out of bed, Sydney cuddled in her complementary robe and began to read a book on her Kindle. She couldn’t even get through one page. It was too easy to substitute the events of the book with the events of last night. Her life was becoming a contemporary romance.
As she glanced across the room, she spotted the silver pumps Marcus had bought her. Like a little kid she scurried over and put them on. It made her feel like she had a piece of him there. She paraded around the room in them for a short time, still wearing them she returned to the couch.
She considered posting something about her trip on Facebook, but couldn’t come up with the right words. Was she ready for other people to know about Marcus? She didn’t even know anything about Marcus. Even though they had flown out of the same airport, she didn’t know where he was from or what he did for work.
He said he was here on business. Sydney wondered what kind of job would require him to come to Las Vegas. Did it really matter? He was here, and that was all that mattered.
Could Philippe have sent him to her? She had been so lonely the last six months. He wouldn’t want her to be alone the rest of her life. She knew she wouldn’t want that for him if the situation were reversed. But it had only been six months. What would people think or say? She had come to Vegas to make a change in her life. She wasn’t going to worry about what other people said or thought. Sydney wanted to do what made her happy. And right now, Marcus made her happy.
Realizing the time, she quickly got in the shower. She made sure to spend extra time shaving. If she was to get completely naked again, she wanted to make sure she felt smooth. She brushed her teeth, combed her hair into a loose bun on the top of her head, and dressed in her sweats and a t-shirt.
Sydney couldn’t fathom in her mind what would happen today. Last night was so unimaginable. She’d just have to wait and see.
* * * *
When Marcus arrived, Sydney opened the door wearing a T-shirt with Woody from Toy Story on it. It looked like it might have been one of her kids’ shirts. It barely reached the top of her gray sweat pants. They were at least two sizes too big but hung so tantalizingly on her hips.
“Woody, really?”
“I love Woody.”
“Woody and I would like to come in,” he quipped holding his hand open, palm up, pointing to his crotch.
Sydney laughed. Marcus wore a plain white t-shirt, gray sweatpants, and those high top sneakers, but Sydney still thought he looked amazing. As he entered, he kicked off his sneakers. “Am I dressed okay?” Marcus
