thought of him before.  He was
obviously drawn to Jimmy, his confidence, his grace under fire, he was a true
man.  As he dreamed, he envisioned Jimmy undressing, until he was
completely naked.  Jimmy looked at him with that same cocky smile he did
everything with.  The smile that said, I know more than you know, and I
could have you any second. Anthony knew it to be true, he was gorgeous, he
wanted him, but he hated him.

Anthony woke up the next morning
quite hot and bothered.  Anthony tried to place the dirty thoughts deep
into the recesses of his mind, as he continued to get ready for work.  He
always dressed well, most of his money was spent on buying quality
clothing.  He loved to be the best dressed guy in the office.
Anthony understood that very well, how to dress and how to make the best of
what you have.

He hopped into his car and began the
drive to work, all the way in practicing what he had to say.

“Mr. Spade, please take your seat……Mr. Spade, welcome back…..Mr. Spade, FUCK!”

Anthony was more nervous than he had
been in any of Jimmy’s other disciplinary hearings, that may well have been
because, this was the first time, he ever admitted his attraction to
Jimmy.  It made little difference though, he found Jimmy morally
reprehensible. Jimmy was so pompous, he would never even give him the time of
day.  Anthony started to yell at himself in the car,

        “Come on Anthony!  Don’t let
this asshole get the better of you.  He has used that smile before, you
are not a sheep!  Don’t be swayed by his good looks.  Even people
with good looks, kill other people.  He is a danger and needs to be
stopped!”
That was the pep talk that he
needed.  Anthony knew he had a job to do, and he had worked too hard for
someone to screw this up for him.  Anthony pulled into the parking lot of
the AMAN headquarters with a full head of steam, and all the intention in the
world.  As far as he was concerned Jimmy had met his match.  It was
then that he decided, he was not going to over-practice, he knew what to do, he
had been through this countless times before.  Anthony parked the car,
slammed it into park, almost ripped the emergency brake from its cables,
grabbed his bag, got out of the car and slammed the door.  Anthony had
built up such a head of steam that he stormed right past his boss, barging into
the building.
            “Hey, hey, Anthony?  Where is
the fire?”

“Oh, Mr. Davies, I am sorry, I am just so fired up for this case!  I want
to nail this bastard today.”

“Woa, Woa, hold on their Anthony.  We have talked about this before, we
are all on the same team here. We are not here to ‘nail’ anyone.  We are
here to find an amicable resolution between the two parties, and try to curb
Jimmy’s behavior.  Don’t commit career suicide here Anthony, you are too
smart, and I need you too much.”

“Mr. Davies, what is the point of all of this then?  If you know you are
going to let him off, why do I have to do all this work?”

“Anthony, let us not be naive, we all know why we do what we do, and it is not
because of morals.”
Anthony had a good mind to tell his
boss how he truly felt.  Anthony was an idealistic person who did have a
strong belief in justice and good will.  However, he also had bills to pay
and thought better of arguing with his boss.  He had a pretty easy job,
and it would always be his job if he didn’t rock the boat.  Anthony calmed
down and walked with his boss into the AMAN’s main boardroom to continue their
conversation, and prepare their case.  Anthony felt awful, like he was
selling himself out and even though what he had was a pretty sweet job, he
could not help but think of leaving it.  He may be broke if he left, but
at least he would
