She waved me off.
“What the hell is he going to do? Ignore my letters? Ignore my calls? Exactly, he didn’t give a shit when he decided to decline the two years and go to trial. I’m raising two babies alone, not him. He gets three hots and a cot. Go on with that bullshit,” I continued.
My mother patted my shoulders, while Bre got her bags and headed to the door. “That’s why nobody likes to come around from our side. Your smart ass mouth,” She spat.
“If my smart ass mouth is preventing yall from seeing the twins, I don’t know what to tell you.” She left out the door and slammed the door. Again, my babies started crying because they were startled.
“I don’t know why you even give in to her ass,” My mother smacked her tongue and grabbed Joy out her carrier.
“I know, she just annoys me like her brother is such a saint. Three bitches came to his trial claiming they were his girl. The lawyer was so confused, he just told all of us his information,” I sighed.
“You crazy as hell because I would have walked my ass out of there. Let his other bitches handle it, since he can’t keep his dick in his pants. How was the visit?”
I grabbed Pride and started taking her snow suite off. “Ma, he wasn’t even concerned about that babies. He was more concerned about who I’m fucking. Spent the whole five hour visit going on and on about shit he heard. Please tell me who I’m fucking because if I’m not a work, I’m home with my kids.”
“He’s just guilty because he done did you wrong. All you need to do is worry about those babies. Who was that man? Look like he got money,” She asked, being nosey.
“It was three in the morning and I was running to catch the bus, and the dumb ass bus driver pulled off. He saw me and offered to drive me to the prison. He has a brother in there, and visited him while I did mine.”
“You got in a stranger’s car with my grandbabies? Why didn’t you call me?” She placed Joy in the bouncer, she had bought for them.
“You were working and I didn’t want to bother you.”
My mother was a trauma social worker in the emergency room. She worked nights and was always on call in the day. She rarely had days off, but she loved working her job.
“You know I would have left and drove you. You’re lucky he turned out to be decent. You better head home, it’s a little after ten. Take my car if you need it.”
I kissed my mother, babies and headed out the door. I got in her car and drove a couple blocks down. I lived on Gates avenue in a three story walk up. With my luck, I lived on the third floor. I trotted up the stairs and headed right to the shower. I dressed in a pair of tight shorts, bustier that had my breast filling out the top, thanks to my munchkins. I pulled on a pair of thigh high six inch stilettos and ran some gel through my curly mane.  I applied some lipstick and eyeliner and put my trench coat over it and headed out.
The valet driver took my mother’s car and I headed into the club. Tonight it was packed because it was a Saturday, but any night of the week Truce was really packed. My boss, Lance was the best and let me come back to work as soon as the babies were born. I couldn’t afford to be off and not making money. Plus, he looked out for me, since I was in school to become a lawyer. I was on maternity leave with school, but I had been keeping up by doing my work online. I headed to the back and took off my coat and locked them in the office. I spotted my friend, Toma, trying to flirt with Lance.
