things get weird. Otherwise, I’ll pick you up tomorrow. Seth can run me by to get my car and you can come home with me then.”
As she pulls away, I frown. “This feels so wrong, Bec. But at the same time, he awakens a part of me that nobody but your brother ever has.”
She flings open the cab door and scrunches her nose at me. “Ew. Please tell me you never slept with Seth.”
I shake my head and laugh, “No, but he is hot.”
“Stahhhp,” she groans as she climbs in the car. “Bye, babe. Have fun and let loose. One night without your dad or Parker is the whole reason we went to these lengths tonight. They’ll be there tomorrow waiting for you with their pompous, condescending smiles.”
    She’s right.
    Rebecca is always right.
“Text me the minute you get home,” I order before I close the door.
The cab spins out and is soon gone.
A chill skitters through me when a warm, now familiar hand, slides around my belly. His scent invades me and I lean my back against his chest. I can’t believe I’m going to do this.
    This is reckless.
    And sinful.
    So bad.
Yet, I’m dying for more of his touch. I’m a needy addict who’s had her first hit of a drug that gives her a high she’s never experienced.
    “Come, sugar.”
I nod and turn in his arms. He drops a sweet kiss on my nose before taking my hand. With every step toward the building, me trailing behind him, my anxiety rises. What if I’m way too inexperienced for him? What if he laughs at me? What if I don’t turn him on?
The brunette waitress shoots me a scalding glare as we pass and Zeke flips her the bird. He’s dragging me along, so much so, that by the time we make it to the stairs, the other bartender with the burly beard steps in front of him and raises a questioning brow.
“Everything okay, little lady?” the man grunts at me.
Zeke glances over his shoulder at me and the moment his heat-filled eyes find mine, the anxiety dissolves. His desire for me is ever present and it squashes my self-doubt.
“Yes, thank you,” I peep out.
Zeke mutters out “asshole” to the guy who in turn laughs as we pass and ascend the stairs. My heart flips and flops inside of my chest. I’m not sure how this will go down. Will I undress? Will he undress me? Will we kiss while we make love?
He retrieves a key from his pocket and soon we’re inside of the door at the end of the landing. Once he tugs me inside, he slams the door shut and locks it. When his eyes meet mine, I shudder.
    “Um, I, uh,” I stammer.
His scowl morphs into an amused grin—the corners of his lips twitching and his green eyes blazing in a playful way. “You’re over-thinking it, Eden. That is your name, right?”
With a curt nod, I glance down at my feet. “Yeah.”
“And you have that fake ID because you’re not quite twenty-one?”
    “Not quite.”
My eyes skim past the man who dizzies and allures me beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. His apartment is a studio apartment with a big bed under the window, a door which leads to a small kitchenette, and another closed door that I presume is the bathroom. There’s a recliner in the corner but nothing in the way of real living room furniture. It’s empty, under decorated, and basic.
“Have you not lived here long?” I question and drag my gaze over to him.
“A week.” He’s working the buttons on his black dress shirt and I become mesmerized by the action. His shirt has to be peeled from his body and beneath it, he dons a white tank that stretches over his muscled chest. Tattoos cover every inch of exposed flesh.
    He looks dangerous.
    But oh, so hot.
“I see,” I peep. “I, um, maybe I should go to the bathroom and freshen up.”
His throaty chuckle reverberates its way down between my legs and a sweat breaks out over my skin. “Sugar, you’re not going to stall anymore. I can barely see straight because you fucking blind me with how sexy you are—all coy and shit.”
I start to protest that I’m not
