After she left I gathered all of my laundry and went to the basement.  I decided to call my mom since I hadn’t talked to her very much in the last few days.
“Hi sweet heart , how are the races going?” she asked in a happy voice.
“Asher and I came back to the campus, Jet and I had an argument.  I didn’t want it to affect his racing so we flew back yesterday morning.”
“What do you mean you had an argument?”
“Mom, I really don’t want to talk about it .  Okay?”
“No Chassis it’s not okay, tell me what went on!”
“Fine!” I told her about everything but left out the whole incident with Carley.
“So, you didn’t think you could stay there and talk it through like two adults?  Chassis you can’t run every time there’s a problem.”
“I know mom but it really bothered me seeing them like that, I think I’m just afraid that I’m not good enough for him.”
She gasped, “Chassi s Brinn Heart how dare you, I’m calling your uncle so he can chew you out for saying that!”
I sighed and rolled my eyes, “Mom please, he’ll be back Sunday and we will talk.  We don’t have school Monday so I’m sure we’ll go out for supper and go to a movie.  I’m still new to all of this relationship drama, well kind of , but he’s the first guy I’ve ever been in love with.”
“Chassis, sweetie, I know you love him and I know he loves you.  If it makes you feel any better, your dad was the first man I ever loved and the only man I have ever slept with.”
“ARE YOU SERIOUS MOM?” I asked in complete shock.
    “ One hundred percent!”
“Whoa, but you…umm…I don’t know what to say really.”
She laughed, “I know, but just give this thing between you and Jet a chance.  I know it seems crazy with what happened between his dad and your dad, but Jet’s a good kid.”
We talked for about ten minutes longer then finally we hung up.
Asher called to tell me that she indeed is not pregnant that she has a sinus infection that’s draining and causing her stomach to be so upset.
“Why are you a week late though?” I asked her.
“I’m not, I was off a week on the calendar.” She said and started laughing.
“Well don’t have unprotected sex while you’re on the antibiotic, or you WILL end up pregnant!”
“He’s not going to be happy about that but I’m sure when I explain why he’ll be okay.  Where are you anyways, I’m back at the dorm.”
I told her I was in the basement doing laundry so she gathered hers and came downstairs too.
We sat there talking about school, her parents, my mom, Mitch, and Jet.  I told her that Lance invited us over to watch the big race on Saturday.
“Sweet, I was wondering if you were going to watch it.” She said and bumped her shoulder against mine.
After we finished our laundry we decided to order take out instead of cooking, I was quickly figuring out why they say freshman gain fifteen pounds.
We sat on the floor with our food on the coffee table and watched a show about brides competing to see who could win a dream wedding.  My phone chimed with a new message. I opened it and there was a picture of Jet with his little boy Chase sleeping on his lap inside the enclosed trailer.  Under the picture was a text, *Met Chase and his parents today, wish you could have been here.  I miss you so much Chassi s it’s killing me that you won’t talk to me.*  I handed my phone to Asher so she could see the pictures, her eyes got big, “He’s Jet’s twin!” she said then read the text.   I was trying to hold back tears, I wanted to call him and talk but I wanted him to concentrate on his race instead of worry about me.  I didn’t text him back or call him, we finished our supper then about an hour later went to bed.
The next morning I woke up and went for a jog as usual, I couldn’t shake the nerves that I was feeling for Jet today.  I wanted to call him and wish him good luck but I decided that I would send him a
