Wolves at the Door (MMM)
“Was he embarrassed?
Is this a date?” He did not like the sound of this guy.
“ No. He said it’s just
friendly.” Aiden paused.
Patrick counted to five because he
could feel more coming. “Aiden?”
“ He kind of … blushed.
Probably just felt self-conscious because of what happened last
night. He made it really clear that this guy is just a
friend.”
    “ It better stay that
way.”
    Aiden sighed again. “Patrick, please
be nice tonight. Don’t try to boss him around and don’t ask about
this guy. He likes us, which is why he wanted to be sure I knew
this guy was only a friend. He’s lived here like a week. Please
don’t get worked up about this other guy.”
“ We had an amazing time
last night, and I don’t want anyone getting in the way. Let me be
clear here. I’m not upset with Steven. I don’t think he’d fuck us
and then walk away. But, if given the choice between dating a guy
he already knows and exploring something very new and
unconventional with two guys he just met, he might choose the safe
path.”
    “ Then let’s make tonight
normal. Let’s get to know him, just talk and laugh and enjoy
ourselves.”
The alpha inside of Patrick wanted
Steven beneath him that very moment, wanted to fuck Steven deep and
claim him. He knew an ordinary human could never understand, but he
couldn’t push the urge down completely. “I’ll try.” He attempted to
focus and asked, “How did your day together go?”
    “ Very well. He’s very
intelligent and funny. He’s also very, very sweet. He let me kiss
him when I left. I only told you about the lunch invitation because
otherwise you’d be making plans for tomorrow. I don’t see this guy
as a threat.”
Patrick, of course, saw everyone and
everything as a threat. “Maybe not now. But what if his shyness
stems from liking Steven? Or what if he’s not out of the closet? Is
Steven out at work?”
“ Yes, he said he is. He’s
tired of hiding, so this guy has to know he’s gay.”
    Patrick groaned internally, fisting
his hand in the leg of his khakis. “We’ll just have to make sure
Steven sees we’re serious. I want him to know we aren’t looking for
a fuck buddy or a new boy toy or something like that.” Patrick took
a deep breath. “You’re gonna have to turn on the charm to smooth
away my rough edges.”
“ He reacts to you the way
I do. He feels the alpha in you and seems to want to submit. I
don’t think he really sees your rough edges.”
    “ We’ve had one encounter.
We have to work hard tonight and set just the right tone, both
sweet and seductive.”
    Aiden didn’t say anything. Patrick
knew this meant he was worried. “Baby,” Patrick said, “Listen,
okay?”
    “ Okay. I’m
listening.”
    “ He’s right for us.
He’s ours .”
“ And if he heard you say
that he’d think we were crazy. I can’t work much charm if your
edges are too rough.”
Patrick let the interruption slide. “I
know, baby. But I need him to feel my power, and I need him to see
how amazing you are as well. I’m sure he already saw it at least a
little today. Am I right?”
“ We got to know each other
and talked a lot. He seemed at ease around me. And when I said
good-bye, he leaned in for the kiss. He didn’t just wait for me to
bridge the distance.”
    Patrick smiled a
little. Of course he did. Who could resist
you? “Good.”
    “ I don’t think we should
try for anything sexual. Last night was intense for him. I don’t
want him with us for orgasms.”
“ He’s not like that. He
wanted the affection and the contact as much as the pleasure.”
Patrick looked at his watch. “I have a meeting, baby. Just think
about what I said.”
    “ I will, but I want to
talk before he gets here tonight.”
“ All right. We will. I
love you. Bye.”
    “ Love you, too.
Bye.”
Patrick hung up, his mind already
drifting to their evening together.
