but none of his purported findings had stood up upon review.
Julia closed the inbox and started reading through the report. As lunchtime approached, she grabbed the sack lunch Mrs. Padrov had made for her and headed towards the elevator. She enjoyed being in the open air and had taken to eating her lunch while sitting in the sun in the small patio in the rear of the building. It was marked for employees only, but she had yet to encounter anyone besides herself utilizing the space.
As she ate her lunch, she let her feelings and loneliness take hold. She wasn’t sure what she had expected to find in Russia, but she had hoped to make some new friends and have some fun. So far, the only single woman she had met was Antonia Padrov, and according to Mrs. Rusnik, she wasn’t a suitable companion.
The men she worked around were coldly polite to her at all times, and she felt as if she was intruding on their turf most days. All in all, Russia was turning out to be a very lonely place. Maybe she would go with Antonia just once to one of her nightclubs. If nothing else, maybe she could meet some other single people and make a few friends.
Resolved in her plan, and determined to not let Mrs. Rusnik’s opinion influence her decision, she placed a call to Antonia once she returned to her office. The young woman was thrilled to hear from her, “Julia, my American friend! How are you?”
“I’m fine. Antonia, I was wondering if you would be available to help show me around the town this weekend?”
“Oh, you have had enough of being by yourself. I have a suggestion, I am to attend an exhibit of art this evening. Why don’t you join me? My date has cancelled and it would be much more fun to have a friend along.”
Julia smiled, “I’d love to. Uhm… what kind of clothing should I wear?”
“Oh, don’t worry about that. How about I pick you up at your office after work and bring you back to my flat? You are about the same size as me. I will play dress up with you and then we will go out. That bulldog driver of yours can have the night off.”
“Sergei? I don’t know that he minds driving me around. Anyway, I would love to meet you after work. I’ll call Sergei to pick me up afterwards.”
“That sounds fine. I’ll see you in a few hours.”
Julia hung up the phone, pleased with herself and looking forward to an evening filled with adventure and people. She didn’t say anything to Mrs. Rusnik, and placed the call to Sergei herself. She told him that she was going to attend an art exhibit with a friend she had met and she would let him know when she was ready for a ride home. Julia was going to change her Russian experience; starting tonight.

Chapter 5

Julia pulled at the hemline of the too-short skirt once more, wondering how she had let Antonia talk her into wearing something so daring. The black mini-dress showed more skin than it covered, hugging her lithe frame in all the right places, and baring skin in all the others.
The backless dress was held on her body by a single strand of pearls that draped across her shoulders, and the fact that the stretchy material hugged her hips, falling only a few inches below the curve of her ass.
The dress had been impossible to wear with a bra, and her normal underwear had left noticeable panty lines. Antonia had produced a brand new black lace thong, which she had encouraged Julia to try on with the dress. Gone were the panty lines, leaving behind a feeling of naughtiness.
Julia had picked out a pair of conservative two-inch heels, which Antonia had promptly switched with a pair of four inch stilettos that made her bare legs look a mile long. She had looked at herself in the full-length mirror, mouth open wide at the image that peered back at her. She looked amazing!
“Stop fidgeting with the hem, its fine. You look gorgeous! See, all of the men are looking at you.”
Julia glanced around, blushing when she noticed that several men were openly staring at her
