    She smiled. Only Jake.
     
    She pulled back to look at his flustered expression. Her heart flip flopped. “You are an amazing man, Jake Rawlins.” Tears flooded her eyes as she smiled.
     
    “ You aren’t mad?”
     
    “ No, Jake. It was a very romantic thing to do. I don’t think anyone has ever gone to that much trouble for me,” she told him shyly.
     
    “ It wasn’t that much trouble, baby. I’d do anything for you,” he answered her, his voice tight with emotion. “Hell…I let you yank my chain for a year. I kept telling myself I needed to give up…but I couldn’t.”
     
    Maggie sighed. “I’m glad you didn’t. I would have missed out on the best thing I’ve ever had.”
     
    “ Baby…you haven’t seen my best.” His mouth curved up and his eyes lit with amusement.
     
    She giggled at his comment, loving his touch of arrogance. “Hmmm…so when do I get to see it?” she murmured.
     
    “ I’m ready to show you right about now, I think,” he answered as he trailed kisses down the side of neck.
