came together, he felt her moan softly, her body loosening up under his touch. She was tentative at first, but as they kissed deeper and more urgently, Ivy began to become more assertive. Her tongue found his, and Ryder felt her hands grip onto him strongly.
It felt like they were kissing for the first time. Their need for each other was strong, and Ryder felt a thousand words of emotions pass between them silently. Their bond was being sealed - they were not only lovers now. They were life partners. Parents.
When they at last broke apart, Ivy's confidence was completely back, and she fell into the job she did so well - organizer.
"What should we do first? We'll need to go together to the doctor; I'll keep track of all the appointments. We also need to find a replacement for me when I go on maternity leave. And the nursery - will we have an identical one at each of our places?"
"Just one nursery, and that'll be at my house." He pushed on before she could protest. "Because you'll be living with me. That apartment is too small for you. I have a beachfront property with plenty of spare bedrooms And a big yard for kids to play in. Hell, we’ll even have a room just for your quilts and stuff."
"I feel like a princess," she said, blushing slightly. "I can't imagine living in a place so wonderful."
He pulled her closer, positioning her body so she was straddling him. "You deserve it, babe. We'll figure out the details later. For now, I think some celebrating is in order." His hands roamed to her chest, popping open the buttons of her shirt one by one.
"I thought you had work to do," she said, pushing her chest forward with a smile.
"A very important meeting just came up. I plan to spend all afternoon in it." His grin was wicked as he finished opening her top. "You'd better clear your schedule. This will take awhile."
Epilogue
R yder put his Jaguar into park with a sigh. It had been a long day at work and he was exhausted. Grabbing his briefcase from the passenger seat, he slowly got out and wandered up the drive. All the house lights were on and his beachside villa looked beautiful in the darkness.
As he walked up to the large oak door he could hear the muffled sounds of giggles. Tiny little voices were whispering behind the wood. Bracing himself, he swung it open.
"Daddy!"
Two pairs of hands latched onto him, one on each leg. He chuckled, ruffling the hair of his two sons.
"How was your day, buddies?" He asked, looking down into their bright faces.
The tiredness he had felt before melted away. Looking at his children, he was left with only contentment. A long day at the office was worth it, knowing it helped keep his boys happy and healthy.
"They've waited all evening to tell you about their big adventure in the park," came his wife's gentle voice.
Ryder looked up to see Ivy standing in the doorway, their three-month-old daughter on her hip. Her blonde hair was cascading down in perfect ringlets, framing her pale face beautifully.
A lump rose in his throat. He never got tired of coming home to her. There wasn't a night that went by that he wasn't blown away by her sweetness as she greeted him with loving eyes. She ran their home, helped him with his business, and still found time to meet him at the door with a kiss.
"How was your day?" she asked as he bent to kiss her hello.
"Perfect, now that I'm home with you," he said, taking in her floral perfume.
"You say that every night.”
"And it's always true." He gave their daughter a kiss on the forehead as well. "And I'll prove it to you as soon as the kids go to bed. We can play the secretary game."
Ivy giggled, and gave him her best Fuck Me Eyes. Then she herded the kids up the stairs and to their bedrooms. Ryder watched her go, already planning the way he'd make her scream that night.
