will be teasing your clit with his tongue.”
Julia expertly dodged Bella’s slap, “I’m joking. Right, come on, let's get your makeup on.”
By 7.30pm Bella was all dressed and ready. Julia had insisted that she borrowed Julia’s lucky dress which was a black, tight-fitting Lycra affair that was a bit short for Bella’s liking.
“Are you sure it’s not too short?” Bella asked as she pulled at the hem in a futile attempt to give the dress more length.
Julia pushed her hands away. “No, leave it. You look great; if I was a lesbian, I would be fancying you right now.”
Bella looked at her watch and her stomach nervously flipped. “Right, well I’d better get going.”
Julia took her car keys off the coffee table, “Come on, I’ll take you.”

Owen was the first to arrive at the bar ‘Base Jazz’.
He pushed open the black tinted double doors that had a gold saxophone on them. As he walked inside, the strains of the jazz band could be heard as background music giving the bar a peaceful ambience that Owen found appealing.
Walking over to the bar, Owen ordered a bottle of Bud and caught sight of his reflection in the bar mirror. He had to admit to himself that he looked pretty good.
He had decided to wear a white shirt, pale blue denims and tan colored Rick Owen shoes. He’d wanted to look classy but casual at the same time and he had managed to pull the look off with aplomb.
It had never entered Owens head before that he might be stood up, but for some reason that thought entered his head as he handed his change to the bartender and picked up his beer.
Owen made his way over to the table that was situated right near the front window and watched people pass as he waited for his date to arrive.
Of all nights for Julia’s car to give up the ghost, it had to be this one.
Luckily Bella was only a few blocks away from the bar, but she was still going to be disastrously late. She’s started to run but had found that particularly difficult in her high heels plus she’d rather arrive late rather than with a sweat on and her makeup sliding.
Finally, she reached the bar and pulling open the double doors she practically bumped into Owen, who had been on his way out, convinced that his gut instinct was right and she wasn’t going to show.
Bella looked up at him apologetically. “I’m so sorry I’m late. My friend’s car broke down and I had to walk the rest of the way.”
Her words came out in a babble and Owen smiled at her.
“Hey, you’re here now. Come on sit down; let me get you a drink.”
Bella let him steer her to the table near the window. His hand felt nice and strong in the base of her back.
“I thought you’d stood me up, but I’m glad you didn’t and I’m really looking forward to tonight.”
Bella found herself grinning at him, “So am I, and I’ll have a brandy and coke please, a slice of lemon, a dash of ice.”
Bella was surprised how comfortable she was in Owens company.
Of course, she was suitably impressed to find out that he ran a billion-dollar social networking company but even if he had worked in MacDonald’s, she would have been attracted to him. He had a nice air about him and her nerves had immediately disappeared as soon as they started talking.
“So, how long have you been single?” Owen asked as he sipped his beer.
He also couldn’t help but run an approving eye over Bella’s outfit.
The dress was understated but somehow that made it more sexually appealing to him.
He’d always been accustomed to Priscilla’s taste in clothes. Her motto was and had always been bling, as much bling as one outfit could stand.
“Nearly seven months,” Bella replied, swirling the ice cubes around her glass. “You?”
Owen looked at his watch. “About 24 hours.”
He burst out laughing at the shock on Bella’s face.
    “Seriously?” Bella asked.
Owen nodded. “Yeah, seriously. So if you had asked me out yesterday I would have had to
