other times they weren’t too his liking. It depen ded on what type of mood he was in. One minute he would say no and the next minute he would totally change his mind. It was almost as if he suffered from multiple personalities or something.
Julissa took the next black dress which was a halter type dress. This one was not as flashy and shiny, but seemed like the safer choice. She had alre ady seen the dress pants, crisp shirt, and blazer that Michael planned to wear hanging in the closet this morning. She wanted to compliment his look, not overbear it.
“I like the first one.” Michael’s voice scared the shit out of her and she jumped.
The dress she held slipped from her fingers and dropped to her feet revealing her half naked body. She wondered just how long he was standing there looking at her from behind and why she hadn’t noticed his reflection in the mirror.
“Honey, you scared me.” Julissa turned around and watched as Michael peeled out of his shirt and threw it on the bed beside her dresses.
“I’m sorry .” Michael unloosened the buttons on his pants and they fell to the floor. “You know we have less than an hour to be there.” He stepped out of the pants and threw t hem on the bed too .
Michael wasn’t a really big man. What muscles he had were lean, but still present. His light c aramel complexion was flawless.
“Right. I’m showered and my hair is done. I just couldn’t decide on which dress I would wear.” Julissa bent do wn to pick up the halter top dress .
“I s aid this one.” Michael grabbed the black satin st rapless tube dress and handed it to her.
“I tried to wear this one last month to your employee party and you said it was inappropriate.”
“I lied. Besides, I want you to look good on my arm.” He turned and disappeared into the walk in closet.
“Don’t you always…,”Julissa mumbled, scrunching up her nose.
“What?” Michael called from the closet.
“No thing. I’ll be ready in ten minutes.” Julissa grabbed the clothes that Michael had peeled out of and threw them in the dirty clothes hamper behind the tri-fold screen.
Twenty minutes later, they still weren’t ready. Michael had insisted that she change her hair style to wear her curls in an up-do instead of flowing free on her shoulders. I t was four o’ clock when they backed out of the driveway. They were supposed to be seated right now in the restaurant. Where Michael was concerned, they were always fashionably late.

After turning over the keys to the valet parking attendant, they entered the restaurant and w ere greeted by the door staff . Michael told the man that they were in the group with Richard Carter, and they were ushered to the back of the restaurant and to a private se ction limited to the wedding party and their guests .
As soon as Juliss a and Michael arrived , everyone became quiet . As if most of her friends didn’t know already that for them, being late was the norm . They were definitely late, but at least they were present. Not everyone in the wedding party was there , but it appeared as though a good number of them had shown up .
Julissa was caught of f guard by the many sets of eyes giving t hem the once over . She was sure many of them were hungry and mad because they weren’t on time. A ttention was fine with her , but not that much.
Despite her embarrassment, Julissa put on her best smile. “Hi, guys! I hope you left room for us. Sorry we’re late. We kinda lost trac k of time.”
“Oh, we know the two of you are always late. We just ordered a round of drinks. You didn’t miss anything.” Shanice welcome d them over to the empty seats between her and Myra.
Her heart skipped several beats when she realized they’d have to sit directly across from Quinton. While they took their seats, he locked ey es with her and she thought she would faint at th e smile he gave her. She smile d back and vowed not to make eye contact with him again. For both their
