or something. His behavior was so strange.
Toward the end of dinner, Ben abruptly asked for the bill and then led me out to walk the pier. I shivered in the cold, since I hadn’t thought to bring a jacket. Ben chivalrously offered me his jacket and I loved the warmth it provided as it enveloped my body. I felt ridiculously special! He was letting me wear his jacket!
I turned to look at the water and then turned back to Ben to point out one of the yachts I had seen. When I turned back around, he was down on one knee. I held my hands up to my face and looked at him. I knew what it meant when a man got down on one knee. But it couldn’t be. We had only dated a little over three weeks.
“Sarah, I know we haven’t been dating for very long, but there is one thing I am certain of. I never believed in love at first sight before I met you. I am confident that spending the rest of my life with you is the best thing for me. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?” He opened a box and there was a simple solitaire ring sitting inside, but to me, it looked like the most striking, expensive ring that I had ever seen. It glimmered in the moonlight as it seemed to bounce between the stars.
“Oh, yes!” I exclaimed and jumped in his arms, almost toppling him over.
He chuckled and placed the ring on my fourth finger on my left hand. I couldn’t stop staring at it. It was the most exquisite ring I had ever seen.
    “Do you like it?”
“Do I? I love it!” I exclaimed proudly.
He leaned down to kiss me and I let him. I no longer avoided his kisses. I actually was beginning to like them. I was even learning how to deal with the sensations his kisses bestowed upon my body, and I couldn’t wait for the day when he would be the one to alleviate those aches.
Once his lips were no longer on mine, terror began to fill me. What would I tell my mom? What would my grandparents do? Surely, they wouldn’t understand. And there was no way I could tell them that I had been sneaking around behind their backs for that last few weeks.
“What’s wrong?” he asked me with concern lacing his words.
“Nothing… I just don’t know what I’m going to do about my family.”
He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my head. “You don’t have to do anything yet if you don’t want to. Tell them when you’re ready. I leave in two weeks to start my new job. We’ll commute back and forth in the meantime until you’re ready to shout to the world that we’re together.” I knew he meant that last part as a joke, but I didn’t hear laughter.
I looked up to him, hearing his sad tone. “It’s not that—”
“Shh,” he hushed me. “I know. I know why you don’t want anyone to know. I’m not upset.”
“Have you told anyone?” I knew he didn’t have any family, other than a sister he hadn’t spoken to in five years. He had a few acquaintances, but that was about it. He had told me before about how he lost contact with his friends once he accepted the sub position in our town, and hadn’t really gone out to meet anyone new. So I pretty much knew his answer before I even asked it.
“No. I’m waiting for you to tell me it’s okay before I scream it from the mountain tops.”
I couldn’t help but smile at that.
“Well, where to, my love?” he asked.
My heart pounded in my chest as I thought about my words. I knew I wanted to say them. I knew I would never regret them. I knew they were right. I took in a deep breath and looked into his shining eyes, finding the courage to utter the words that were burning the tip of my tongue.
    “Your house.”

I had to stop. It was late and I was coming up to my first sex scene. I knew it had to be a love making scene, one that was full of passion and still sweet. I wasn’t sure I could do it without help. If it had been a scene where he tied her up and choked her out while slapping her pussy and thrusting balls deep into her, then yeah, I’d be able to bang that one out
