He was out of his mind if he thought, for one minute, I was going to tolerate anymore of his mess. I had much love for the brotha, but what he did the other night was low. First, to try and take something that wasnât even his, then to make me listen to him screw another woman. That was even lower. Lower than I ever thought he would go. But then again, I should have expected this from him, especially since he got his male ego crushed. I wasnât mad at Nokea for playing him like she did, because if anybody had it coming, he did.
I just somehow wish I had the nerve to break this off with him. One day I find myself loving him dearly, and the next day I canât stand to be around him. I know that heâs probably going to be eating out of Nokeaâs hands. If not, heâs going to be eating everything else in sight.
So, for now, I was chilling. I got myself somewhat of a new friend, Shane Alexander, and I was dying to know how Jaylin was going to react when he found out. Especially since Shane was just as educated, fine, sexy, and qualified as Jaylin. Heâs hooked-up in all the right places: body tight, about six feet two, carmel as a Caramello bar can get, and gave twisties a whole new name. The only thing I didnât like was the diamond earring in his left ear, but his light brown eyes allowed me to overlook it.
I met Shane at Career Days on Friday, upset, of course, because Jaylin had told me he was going to Nokeaâs wedding. Something inside of me knew he was planning to stop her wedding, but I didnât want to tell him he would be wrong for doing so. I was the last person he would have listened to, but after the fact, I was sure he wished somebody had stopped him. I loved Jaylin with all my heart, but he needed to be taught many lessons before he would ever think about getting his act together.

I called Jaylin late Friday night to remind him about taking Mackenzie to the circus. Sheâd been bugging me all week, and since he seemed to be suffering from amnesia lately, I didnât want him forgetting about her.
âWhat time would you like for me to have her ready?â I asked.
âIâll pick her up around ten oâclock in the morning. Iâll have to bring her home afterward, because I have a charity banquet Iâm supposed to go to tomorrow night with my boss. Iâll pick her back up early Sunday morning so she can spend the whole day with me.â
âCharity banquet, huh? So, whoâs going to accompany you? Iâm sure you have a date.â
âNone of your business. All you need to know is that Iâm not going alone.â
âThat doesnât surprise me. Is it anyone I know?â
âNaw, you donât know her, but Iâm sure you heard her the other day.â
âIf itâs that chick who answered your phone, you really should be searching for a new sex partner. Those moans I listened to sounded pretty damn fake to me. Didnât seem like you were giving it your all like you do when weâre together.â
âAw...I gave it my all. You just happen to listen in when I was just making my entrance.â
âJaylin, that bitch was fake as ever, and she made those noises to insult me. On another note, please be on time picking up Mackenzie.â
âSure will. Sheâs one woman who will never have to wait for Jaylin Rogers, baby.â
He hung up, and even though he was working my nerves, I wasnât about to let him know it.
I put Mackenzie to bed, and sat on my bedroom floor trying to get the homework done Iâd been neglecting. I knew I couldnât count on Jaylin to pay my bills forever, so I definitely had to get my priorities straight. Heâd already done so much for me and Mackenzie, and because heâd purchased my condo and paid for me to pursue a degree in business, I felt a serious need to accept the situation I was in with him. I wasnât sure how long my patience would
