to the best of her ability to describe her insecurities with trust. I felt her.
We walked the ranch and was back to our normal speed with laughing and light banter exchange. I can honestly say that we had chemistry —sexually and mentally, it was just the emotional aspect that we had to reel in.

We talked so much that when I glanced at the time I jumped. “Oh my goodness! It's late. We have to head back to the airport.”
“ Damn, I'd forgotten our means of transportation,” Azmir noted lowly. I could tell that day I accomplished something that very few could say they had, I had managed to relax Azmir so, that time was completely forgotten about.
On the plane we didn't say much. After buckling in , he turned and looked over to me. This man is heavenly handsome. I briefly drank him in, his eyes were piercing under his long lashes and his lips were moist and inviting. I remember those lips all over me.
He looked exhausted and sexy as all hell. “Ms. Brimm, this was a nice surprise... in more ways than one .”
My heart flu ttered as I smiled sheepishly. “You're sexy even when you're tired, you know that,” I declared.
His eyes shot up to mine. “Oh, do I look tired?” he scoffed.
    “ Yeah,” I answered with a giggle.
Azmir paused with his eyes squinted and looking forward, “Among other things, I feel like I've been on a physical and emotional journey with you this evening.” Then his gaze returned to my eyes causing scorching blood to course through my veins, but I was unsure of his sentiment.
It must have worn on my face because he snorted as he tapped my knee, “This is a very good thing, Ms. Brimm. Now I feel like we're getting somewhere,” as he continued searching my eyes. His tone soothed with promise.
I parted my lips in hopes of that comment being a prelude to a kiss. But he turned forward and rested his eyes.
I wanted him and bad. This made the forty-five minute plane ride back to L.A. seem like an eternity. I wrestled with potential reasons why he hadn't kissed me or shown any affection. If he said we're getting somewhere, wouldn't that mean together? Did I divulge too much? Did I give him the impression that I was saying goodbye?
I pulled up to his car to drop him off. He turned over to me and my breath hitched in anticipation of what was to come.
He only asked, “What are you about to get into?”
I figured he was making small talk to end the night comfortably. Much to my dismay, I obliged with, “I'm not sure. I may stop and check on Michelle and Erin before turning in. I don’t know if they're home though. I'll call as soon as I pull off.”
“ Okay." And then there was a brief pause. “Thanks again…though I'm feeling like I've just been pimped,” he joked regarding our time together. We both laughed at that one. Men are so egotistical . He left and as the car door slammed shut, simultaneously lightning struck through my heart.
What the fuck have I done? This did not end the way that I had intended it to .

I called Michelle, but to no avail, so I headed straight home. By the time I got in, she called me. I began my vomiting of the mouth, giving her the full run down of my romantic evening as I threw my purse down. I retreated to my bedroom, turned on the shower and peeled off my jewelry.
“ Shelly, I fucked up. Why do you think he didn't ask to hang out?” Closing the summary of my evening, I was desperate for clues.
“ Well, you didn't exactly ask him either. Why didn't you ask him if he wanted to extend the evening?” she asked out of pure innocence. I knew deep down inside she hurt for me.
I was so emotional that I couldn't process my thoughts.
“The bottom line is that he didn't ask and we're not together right here and right now,” I whined into the phone trying to fight back my tears. That's when I heard the doorbell sound.
“ Is that your doorbell?” Michelle asked in shock. Unless it's her, I never have guests. And at this
