the door,” Mariah said.
“Me too. She needs to be thanking us.”
“Hell yeah she’ll never admit that she wants him but we know what the deal is.”
Mariah and Jasmine talked more until Ice came to the car. They all greeted him before he put his luggage in the trunk. Ice wasn’t nervous or any of that shit, he was a man, so not too many things made him nervous. If Kaylen had a problem with him being there then cool he wasn’t depending on her it’s not he didn’t have a place to lay his head. He just knew he would for sure be cool off of her after that.
“How was your flight?” Mariah asked as she drove from out of L.A.X.
“It was cool it’s less than an hour from here to Oakland.”
“I want to go with Jared the next time he goes that’s if he lets me,” Jasmine said.
“You know I can’t come between that but if he lets you come you know y’all have a place to stay. Shit y’all probably would be at my house more than I’ve ever stayed there.”
“Why aren’t you always home?” Mariah asked.
“I don’t make my money from out of my bed so I gotta get up and go get it.”
“I understand that but you don’t be at home at all? Jared does his shit too but he’s at home with us as well.”
“Y’all niggas are married they gotta come home. I go home to shower and to get dressed and that’s probably just about it.”
“That’s sad I can’t imagine living like that not even when I was single before I met Jared.”
“You get used to it after awhile but it’s gonna change though.”
“You mean change when you and Kaylen stop playing and get married,” Mariah winked at Ice through the rear view mirrors.
“No if she stops playing, you never know.”
Mariah pulled up in front of Kaylen’s condo and they explained the plan to Ice. They were going to wait in the car just in case Kaylen tripped out and he decided to leave. They just hoped that Kaylen wasn’t up to her games again. If she just went along with the flow then maybe things would go better for her.
“All right we’ll wait right here,” Jasmine said.
“Y’all are a trip,” he said taking his luggage out of the trunk before heading upstairs. Ice called Kaylen’s phone as he walked up the stairs. He didn’t feel like waiting for her to open up the door since she always took her sweet time.
“Hello,” she said when she answered.
“Open the door,” he said.
“What?” she asked.
“I said open up the door,” he said before he hung up the phone.
Kaylen jumped up from off of her bedroom floor and rushed to the front door. She looked through the peephole and saw Ice approaching. She opened the door and didn’t know why the hell he was at her door and had his luggage.
“Wassup?” Ice said pushing past her walking inside.
“So fucking rude,” she said closing the door behind him.
Ice plopped down on the couch and sat his foot on her coffee table. He made himself comfortable and didn’t care. He wanted Kaylen to say something to him.
“Get yo’ big ass feet off of my table,” she said kicking his foot off of the coffee table.
“Man come here,” he said pulling her down on his lap.
“What do you want Ice?” she said trying to ignore how good it felt to be so close to him.
“I’m staying here for tonight aight?” he said looking in her green eyes. She wanted to say hell to the fucking no but somehow she couldn’t.
“All right,” she said giving in.
“You have some dinner for me? Are you gonna run me a bath or something?” he asked lightly tapping her ass so she could get up from off of his lap.
“Nope I’m not your bitch,” she said getting up to go back into her room to finish pack her bags for the trip.
Ice texted Jasmine and Mariah letting them know that everything was good and to be safe getting back home. He got up and went into Kaylen’s bedroom and laid across her bed. This wasn’t the first time he slept on her bed. Many days he knocked out on her bed or on her couch when
