Just a Couple Ex's Blindsided
letting Liv cry as he absorbed the feeling of her body so warm and soft against his. It was comforting.
Liv indulged in pressing her cheek against Axel’s well-built chest as the heat of his body slid through her from head to toe. He felt so good and strong, while her tears slid slowly into the fabric of his shirt. After a time her tears lessened, and then she really had no excuse to stay swaying in his strong arms. Except she did stay, relishing the feel as she danced too close to him. She’d never done anything so overtly sexual in her life.
She kept telling herself that Axel didn’t see it as sexual, but that didn’t stop her feelings. Andrew didn’t want this anymore, but a man like Axel did. He stayed holding her. Her , whose husband had dumped her as unworthy, and this made her feel better, damn it. She wasn’t going to be sorry for her temporary little fantasy.
“I can’t believe we found out like this ... together.” Axel’s voice was a rumble against her cheek resting on his chest.
She lifted her face to his face ... so close. “Do you think they have been doing this for long?” Her question was a vulnerable plea and she regretted even asking it the moment it left her mouth.
Axel’s hand rose and his thumb brushed at the tears on her cheek as he shook his head, then said, “I want to say no, not long, but ...”
“A long time,” she whispered, and she saw him looking at her lips as they danced, and she could smell the spice of Tequila between them.
She shouldn’t have, she really shouldn’t have, but somehow she had to and she stretched up to touch her lips to Axel’s. She felt the heat and shape of his mouth as his body stiffened. Any second she expected him to shove her away. She’d stepped over a huge, blaring line. She wasn’t certain what she was thinking, however it was tangled with wanting to feel more desirable than Kiki Savvi.
Lord help her, Axel’s mouth was heaven and his lips were not flimsy or distracted like Andrew’s were most of the time. Axel didn’t hesitate ... he kissed her back. Fully. Molding her mouth and shaping her lips as he controlled the kiss she’d started and he deepened. She was stunned. Maybe she thought a peck or a simple press of lips. But this hot kiss, made her want to moan. It could be it was the alcohol but she wanted to crawl up his big, muscular body and add her tongue into the mix.
Axel wasn’t surprised enough to stop the kiss. He was angry, hurt, and horny from neglect and Tequila. Added on top of that Liv’s mouth was as sweet as her curving figure pressed up against him. The lady looked a bit cultured, in a certain unassuming way, but Liv’s kiss wasn’t a refined bit of fluff — it was a deep, sultry attack.
Maybe, just, maybe, he was being a chump for feeling exhilaration for kissing that bastard, Dawson’s wife. And, he might have started doing just that ... getting back at Dawson, but the more he kissed Liv, the more it became about just them.
“Oh wow.” Liv broke their damp lips apart.
Her gray eyes were glassy with the heat between them, and he realized his hand was cupping her bottom, helping to keep their bodies pressed together. Her arms were curled up over his shoulders, and the only space between them was their clothes. All pretense of dancing was gone.
He knew he shouldn’t be doing this to her, to them, as he looked into her eyes banked in heat from the kiss and their bodies pressed together. She had to feel his reaction and he wasn’t going to apologize for it. He was a man with a beautiful woman in his arms, after a heated kiss — of course his erection was going to make an appearance.
He saw it then, the knowledge in her eyes. Next the interest. Then, speculation. Yes ... he was heavily speculating too.
“Axel?” She tugged her bottom lip with her upper teeth and the gesture curled into him as sweet and sexy. Heating him up a couple more notches.
“Yes, I’m interested. Hell yes.” His voice sounded
