millennia old. He was a masterpiece. Ginger gazed at him in wonder.
Of course he was drape in black, so she had no idea his body type. The man was sure to be fit from his strong, rigid jaw-line. Ginger guessed he looked like in his late forties but devastingly handsome none the less.
He stared at each lady for a few seconds to make them feel welcome. When his gaze locked on ginger, she felt as if he knew her.
She thought, “OMG. This man knows if they prophecy is about me or Stacey.”
Chapter Twenty-Three:
Daniel asks them to sit at his long mahogany table and each looks at the other. Natalie didn’t leave, so Ginger guess she was staying for this little chat.
Jurnee asks, “Do you know why we are here?”
Daniel chuckles and replies, “I am highly psychic so I can see all.”
Stacey asks, “Why couldn’t you meet us outside of here?”
Daniel sighs and responds, “I am trapped. A curse forces me to live here for eternity. Only one person can release me.”
Penny asks, “Who is it?”
Daniel says, “Shalice Kincaid. Stacey, your decease mother.”
Silence fills the room to let his words sink in.
Jurnee asks, “Why are you a vampire? Or correction how did you become a vampire?”
Daniel says, “I am a demon. The last of my kind. I was an mzble demon, able to blend into my surroundings. The perfect assassin.”
Natalie stops him and says, “Fast, strong, and a teleporter. Regenerative, cunning, and a few other special abilities, but most importantly highly psychic.”
Penny states, “A lethal warrior.”
Daniel smiles his fangy smile and this doesn’t frighten anyone. Somehow on Daniel, it is a comforting sight.
Daniel says, “Go on. I know you all have questions.”
Penny asks, “Did you know Danielle Harvey?”
Daniel grins and states, “Very well. She is a great woman and friend. She did this, made my home feel warm and welcoming. Not so dark and isolated. I am forever indebted to her. Do you know her?”
Penny shakes her head and responds, “She is dead. I was given her powers. Luckily I am not the one from the prophecy. Oh sorry guys.”
Daniel feels the tension and replies, “Stacey and Ginger, you both are special; made to save many lives. Your path is not an easy road, but many will depend on you. I will not tell you who the prophecy is about specifically. Just know your lives are forever entangled, and with the psychic knit you can defeat Feltus Witchburn.”
That eased all the tension from Ginger’s body. That was like a huge weight was lifted off her shoulders. She wasn’t alone and Stacey would always be there to help her. After losing her parents the thought of being alone frightened her soul deeply. This made life seem bearable and maybe things with Leo will ease up.
Chapter Twenty-Four:
They left the room with a skipping Natalie in tow. For some reason the teenage girl grew on her. She wasn’t so young and perhaps the second eldest vampire Ginger knew in existence.
She wondered, “Why didn’t I ask about Spider or Jensen?”
The thing with regret, it could eat a person alive. Maybe now wasn’t the time. Someday, it would be right. Everything will make sense when the time is ready, words her mom use to tell her.
Walking down the hallways to get a feeling of accomplishment and hopefully a chance to change her life. Jurnee held tight to Penny, and that made Ginger long to have someone close to her in her life like that.
“Never give up hope. The future holds the day the world shall perish without hope.” Those words creped into her psyche and somehow they felt like a warning. An premonition to always have hope and help others, words to live by.
Outside the house was a motorcycle. Ginger looked at Stacey, who looked equally unsure who it was.
Stacey asks, “Where you expecting someone?”
Ginger answers, “No. I expect you weren’t either.”
She shakes her head, and
