Bobby. I thought it might actually be nice to have something to take my mind off of things, and maybe Maverick would be just the distraction that I needed. “It’s fine. I trust Bishop, and I know he wouldn’t ask Maverick to do this if he didn’t trust him.”
“Bishop cleared him. It might be a little weird having him there at first. Just remember, he’ll be there to watch over you and make sure you’re safe. Do what he says, and everything will be fine,” Tessa said with a warning in her voice. I knew she was worried about me, so I’d do whatever they needed me to.
“Besides, Lily said that he’s really sweet. You might just end up liking him,” Tessa said as she brushed her hair behind her ear.
“Don’t even think about it. No more bikers for me. Besides, I need time to get myself together. I might even take some online classes,” I told her, trying to change the subject.
“That sounds like a great idea. You should do that.”
“I need to get out of here first, and school starts back next week. I have so much to do,” I told her.
“Don’t rush things. You need time to get back to your old self. Besides, Bishop may not want you going back to work yet,” Tessa said with concern.
    “Why not?” I asked.
“It may not be safe for either of us to go. We’ll have to wait and see what he says. He’ll do whatever it takes to keep us out of danger, and you could always use the extra time to get back on your feet,” Tessa replied.
“Maybe you’re right, but I need a distraction. The kids would keep my mind off of things with Bobby,” I told her.
“You know, Bobby hasn’t been himself the last few days. Are you sure…?”
“Yep, so don’t start with the motherly advice thing you do. I know I did the right thing. It’s just gonna be hard for a while. I miss him… a lot , but I can’t keep making the same mistakes over and over again. It’s time to grow up and stop wishing for things that aren’t gonna happen. Now, how’s Myles?”
“He’s fine. He was a little upset about what happened, but he’s doing better. His wrist was fractured, but it wasn’t bad. They gave him a brace to wear for a few weeks,” she explained. She still didn’t tell me exactly what had happened, but I could tell she was really freaked out about it.
“Tell him I’m thinking about him. I miss everybody so much. I can’t wait to see Drake and Izzie. It’s been too long.”
“The kids miss you, too. They ask about you all the time. We’ll have movie night as soon as you get home,” Tessa promised.
    “I’d really like that.”
Bishop tapped on the door before he walked in. He gave me one of his sexy smiles before he said, “Hey there, stranger. Nice to have you back.”
“It’s nice to be back,” I told him.
“Tessa tell you about Maverick?” he asked.
“Yep. I don’t think all that is necessary, but I know you do. So… I’ll roll with it.”
“Good. You’re club, Court. I don’t know why this happened, but you have my word, nothing will happen to you again. We will protect you. Be sure to give us a call when the doctor releases you. I want Maverick to go over and check out your place before you get there.”
“Okay. Fingers crossed that they’ll let me go home tomorrow, and then I want a movie marathon with the kids,” I pleaded.
“You got it.” Tessa leaned over and gave me another hug. “I’ll see you soon. Love ya, girl.”
“Love you, too. Take care of her, Bishop.”
“You know I will,” he said as he reached for her hand. The room seemed so empty as soon as they walked out. I reached for the remote and tried to find something to watch. I was in dire need of a scary movie -- the freakier the better. I was flipping through the channels when a group of motorcycles crossed the screen. I froze. My heart stopped for a minute as the memories of my accident came rushing back to me.

“You ready to go, little man? We better get going, or Lily is going to think
