trying to catch her breath, Nathan’s wicked fingers drifting
over the front of her panties, sometimes pressing down and teasing her clit.
The random caresses kept her on the edge, her entire focus on the seductive
strokes between her legs.
The rumble of another vehicle pulling up beside them barely
penetrated her awareness. All that mattered was the slow, exploring caress
around her clit.
“Nice seat cover!” a masculine voice cried out.
Tasha’s eyes snapped open and she stared up at a truck
driver looking out the window, down at her. Her left leg was bare, almost to
her hip, and the cool rush of air over her breasts warned that the bodice had
slipped even farther.
She yelped but Nathan just laughed.
“Thanks!” The light changed, he gunned the engine and took
off.
“What was that?” she asked, maybe a little offended, but not
quite sure. “What seat cover?” Was she so bland she looked like a sheepskin
rug?
Nathan’s lips pulled into a wide smile. “You,” he shouted
over the wind. “You cover my seat very nicely.”
“Oh.” She blinked and stared at the road for a moment. She
wasn’t sure how she felt about that. Her feminist side said she should be
offended but it was kind of nice to be admired. With Heather as her roommate,
Tasha was usually the one left mostly unnoticed…unless there was cooking to be
done.
Nathan turned down a side road. Tasha knew the area well
enough to know they were heading into farm country, before the city had
expanded.
He pulled up in front of a tall red building.
“You live in a barn?” she blurted out.
He laughed. “It used to be a barn. The previous owners
converted it into a house, then I remodeled it.”
He restores old cars and remodels homes. Is there
anything this guy can’t do? A wave of uncertainty rushed through her chest.
All she could do was bake. The dress may have made a serious miscalculation
with this one.
The engine’s rumble died abruptly. He squeezed her thigh
then opened his own door.
Seconds later, he came around to her side of the car but
Tasha held him off with a wave of her hand.
“No, I’ll do it. I’d just as soon not walk into your house
topless.”
    “Wouldn’t bother me.”
The blatant lust in his voice made her forget all about her
insecurity. He might be an overachiever but for tonight at least, he wanted
her.
He stepped back, giving her room to open the car door and
stand up. With Nathan out of range, the bodice once again conformed to her
chest and for the moment she was bound in.
He led her toward the door. Lights came on as they crossed
the driveway.
She looked at him, her eyebrows raised.
    “Security lights.”
    “You live here alone?”
She looked up at the big house.
“No.” He grimaced. “My cousin lives here as well, but he
works weird hours. He won’t be home.”
He opened the door and stood to the side so she could walk
in.
“Make yourself at home,” he said, walking off to what looked
like the kitchen. The inside of the house was as amazing as the outside. The
open living area centered around a fireplace in the middle of the room. There
weren’t any doors but some privacy walls had been set up, blocking the kitchen
and dining room from the living room. She tipped her head back and looked up at
the high ceiling above the living area.
A freestanding staircase ran up behind the fireplace.
A mixture of light and dark wood covered everything, giving
it a rustic but elegant feel. She wandered in and put her purse on the side
table.
Moments later Nathan returned, his jacket gone and two
glasses of wine in his hands. “I didn’t know which you’d like, white or red, so
I brought one of each.”
    “White please,” she said.
“Excellent.” He handed her the glass. “I prefer red.”
They raised their glasses in a salute then each took a sip.
The night air had cleared away most of the fuzz from her brain but still, she
wanted to take it easy.
    “Your home is lovely.”
    “Thank you. Would
