floored her sometimes.
Jason had a mind like a steel trap—once it closed in on something, it didn't let it go until every detail had been committed to memory. She found that incredibly sexy. He could also lay a person low with very few well-chosen words.
He didn't suffer fools gladly and held nothing back when he thought he had something right. She took pride in winding him up just to watch him in action. He tended to be magnificent when he set out to make a point.
And the man could fly like no one else.
Chloe jerked herself out of her thoughts. She must be feeling the effects of the alcohol and being in the proximity of a tremendously attractive man. Her mind had wandered into dangerous territory, and she needed to stop thinking before she did something she'd regret.
And she would regret doing anything… right?

Jason tried to work through his feelings about Marc proposing to Chloe. He should be ecstatic for his brother, but he sadly lacked the emotion. He honestly never considered the possibility Marc would actually marry someone. It shouldn't bother Jason… his brother would be a lucky man. Vibrant, humorous, and self-assured, Chloe had more passion than anyone, male or female, he'd ever met.
Her instincts were razor sharp and dead on. She faced things with a surefire confidence and tackled problems with a gusto he envied. He surprised himself by finding that insanely attractive. She fought for what she believed in, wouldn't take crap from anyone, and would go to the mat if she thought she had something right.
He thoroughly enjoyed setting her off with a random comment and watching her tear the place up with her fierce defense of something. Amazing to behold. And in the air… she went unmatched… she'd been born to fly.
Startling himself with his line of thought, he shot a look in her direction to find her gazing intently in his. God, he could get lost in her eyes… they were mesmerizing. He stared back, losing himself a little, finally acknowledging he wanted something he couldn't have.
Jace held the thought close, then let it go.
He cleared his throat. "So… married." He turned toward her, shifting his position so he lay mainly on his side. "It's a big step." He'd figure out a way to be happy for his little brother if he did propose to Chloe.
He'd be happy for her, too.
Chloe kept her gaze on Jason a moment longer, then nodded. "Tell me about it."
They'd talked once, briefly, about relationships. Chloe never thought anyone would want her 'forever'. Didn't think she'd ever be worthy.
She worried her lower lip between her teeth. "I'm scared."
She looked terrified.
Jason's eyes grew wide. "Of Marc?" She couldn't be scared of his brother—the guy worshipped her.
Chloe shook her head back and forth. "Of myself… of screwing it up…" She sighed deeply. "I don't know if I can do forever. Hell, I'm still attracted to other guys." She swung a sultry gaze toward him.
Jason didn't know what to say… so he said nothing.
Chloe moved forward until an inch separated her face from his. "I'm attracted to you." Her eyes were intent on his.
And there he had it… out in the open.
The air became charged.
He didn't fight the magnetic pull drawing him closer to her. Her head drifted slowly forward, her gaze locked on his, and her lips met his… tentatively at first, then with a hunger that threatened to consume him. Exchanging heated kisses, they tore at each other's clothing with frantic movements, trying to remove it with haste. Jason dragged his shirt over his head and threw it across the room, and Chloe pulled hers open losing a couple of buttons when they popped off to land on the floor. Lips met skin when Jason shoved his pants down until he could kick them off to land in front of the table. Chloe quickly undid her jeans, and Jason tugged them down her hips, following their path with a burning trail of kisses.
He lost his ability to think rationally when he fought with Chloe's jeans
