one of his horns into her shoulder. One of his hands came around her waist and the other wrapped around her neck. Her screams were cut off as she fought, using her feet and what mobility she had of her hands. When free of his hold on her neck, covered in blood and aching all over, she yelled in pain as she slid off the horn which was embedded in her shoulder. Overcome with pain, she slashed out violently at the demon, cutting its hand off.
Chapter 3
Logan ran into the club and almost roared himself when he saw Ava in werewolf mode running toward Faith only to be skewered through her shoulder by the biggest demon’s horn. Logan saw red when one of the demon’s hands wrapped around her neck. He pulled his knife out and drew on the powers of the supernaturals around him. He laughed when he felt a water element…that explained the holes in the demons’ bodies.
Logan found an earth element and grasped onto her powers, focusing on the ground the concrete cracked and groaned and the demons foot slipped. Ava screamed in pain but managed to free herself and cut off the hand of the demon that’d been holding her. Knowing she was okay, Logan turned his attention elsewhere.
Running to the bar, he switched, channeling the water element, drawing on her powers. He yelled to his brother, “Water, work with me.” After several yells, Hayden finally ran closer. Logan used his machete knife to cut the water pipes and call up the water. It shot up and he pushed it to his brother so he could help aim it and keep it in a round like long shape to shot at the demons.
Sara seemed to notice his pull on her powers. She fought it for a moment, looking around until she spotted him and Hayden. Sara ran from out of the protection of Tray, and came to him to help. He growled out. “Hayden. Help Hayden.”
As Sara touched Hayden it became easier to control the water, and he didn’t have to concentrate as hard. Together they focused on the demons, sending ice cold water straight through their bodies.
A demon’s tail slashed at Logan’s hands, yanking it out of the circle shape he held. Water slopped and fell without the round shape of his hands to help guide it. Logan dropped the link to focus on the demon only to sigh in relief as Kane, five other werewolves, and two military men joined the fight.
The military men ran over to help him, along with a werewolf named James. As soon as they had the demon under control, Logan grinned now recognizing his ability to feed off and manipulate Sara’s element. Sara laughed as he and Hayden shot more holes in the last of the demons.
Logan looked around at the carnage. The club was destroyed. Logan winced as he saw the floor. He really must have been pissed off, because the concrete was cracked in several places, not just where Ava had been.
Thinking of the hot werewolf, he looked around for Ava and saw her leaning heavily on the wall, being chewed out by one of her brothers. He moved closer to see it was Kane.
“Ava, because of your selfishness you have put mates at risk. You’ve been taught since birth to fight. If you’d listened, or turned up to class, you wouldn’t be in this shape. Because of you, my mate and Kirby got hurt.” Kane smashed his fist into the wall beside Ava.
When their conversation became loud and Ava flinched, Logan rushed over, without thinking about what he was doing. He didn’t know what came over him. He stepped in front of Ava and stared at Kane, snarling, “That last comment was uncalled for, Kane. You need to leave Ava alone, now. Go take a breather.”
Kane growled, taking a step toward him.
It took everything in Logan and all his training to keep looking Kane in the eyes and not take a step back. “You have said enough, Kane. She’s your sister, give her a break, they were fucking outnumbered. Stand down. Go find Faith.”
Kane took a deep breath, nodded to Ava, then turned his gaze on Logan. “Tomorrow we will talk. Don’t think we didn’t see
