coming home.  Being near him felt comfortable and he didn’t feel
like someone she had only just met an hour before.
He opened the door to the suite and apologized for it not being
the best, but his company was paying for it, so he took what they gave him.
Serena didn’t see anything wrong with it and didn’t understand why he was
apologizing because it looked more like a small apartment than a hotel room.
It was very nicely furnished and had a distinctly masculine feel about it as if
it had been decorated specifically for a man with discerning tastes.  There was
a lot of dark cherry wood, rich browns and burgundies, and all of the brass
fixtures shined like gold.  The furniture was all modern looking and not at all
institutional or outdated like some hotels she had been in.  She looked around
at everything and thought to herself how she had never been in a place as nice
as this.
He said he was planning to only stay in and relax with some wine
and good book that evening but was happy to have some company.  Being in a new
city and a new country was a bit lonely, and he still hadn’t met many people
other than at the office, and he preferred to leave work at work.  Serena
agreed that was a good idea.  He rustled through the shopping bags and took out
the candle that he had bought.
“Ambiance,” he announced with a bright smile and a wink.
He said that he hoped she didn’t think it was feminine of him, but
lighting a candle made it feel more like “home away from home”.  He placed it
on the side table and lit the wick, and he was right.  The glow of the flame
suddenly made everything seem cozier and cast a warm glow into the room. Serena
hadn’t seen the label on the candle when he bought it, but she could see now
that it read “ Brown Sugar & Fig ”, and it smelled delicious.
She stood at the door, afraid to touch anything but also afraid to
get everything wet.  She carefully removed her shoes and placed them to the
side, while he had tossed his wet coat and suit jacket carelessly on a chair
like he was at home.  He walked ahead to the small kitchen with an island bar
and offered to put water on for tea.  She thanked him but said the espresso
drink that she had in the car was enough. He then walked into the bedroom and
called out to her saying he was sorry that he didn't have much, but he would
find something dry for her to change into.
He returned a few moments later, carrying some folded clothes that
looked like a t-shirt and flannel pajama pants.  Serena loved wearing men's
clothes that were oversized on her, so she said that would be fine.  He saw
that she was shivering, so he vigorously rubbed her arms and back to warm her.
She wondered how he could feel so warm when she was so chilly and they had both
just been in the same rain together.  She wished he would pull her into his
arms and wrap her in his warmth, and she looked up at him tentatively.
“Let’s get you out of these wet clothes,” he said quickly,
removing his hands and seeming to not respond at all to her eyes that were
begging for his touch.
Serena was sure from his tone that he meant for her to go to the
bathroom and change, but he stayed in front of her.  He reached out and began
to undress her, lifting her wet t-shirt and peeling it off of her.  She raised
her arms, never taking her eyes off of his, and he pulled her shirt up and over
her head then tossed it on the floor.  She instinctively crossed her arms to
cover her bare skin, but he gently pushed them away, and she let her hands fall
to her side.
His eyes danced around her face and wandered down onto her pale
creamy skin, and her heart pounded in her chest like it would explode.  He
smiled a gentle and sweet smile and licked his lips as he gazed upon her.  She
quivered when she felt his hands touch her belly as he unbuttoned her jeans and
slowly unzipped them.  They fit her like a second skin and hugged her curves,
but being wet, they were practically
