casually into the dining room, taking a seat across from me.
Such a bold move for a Vampire. He entered without invitation, an obvious insult to Aiden’s authority. Not only that, he didn’t acknowledge Aiden at all, Lumar’s evil green eyes were solely on me. I knew those eyes, but I still couldn’t place where or when.
“Have a seat Aiden.” Lumar instructed without giving him a glance.
“What brings you here Lumar?” Aiden asking, sitting down cautiously. Still, Lumar kept his eyes on me.
“I thought the three of us should have a little chat. I want to make something clear. I’m here to stay and I’m not only here for my mate. I don’t like the way my people are being treated. I’m going to rectify this problem, ease the oppression of my people and put an end to their suffering. I’m building an army and I’m building it quickly.”
“How?” I whispered. Something about the smugness of his tone brought me back to the night my parent’s died.
“My scientists have found a way to speed up the birthing process of my kind. Soon, I will have an army that no one will be able to defeat.” Lumar pulled the bowl of fruit towards him and savored the taste of the juicy strawberry he placed into his mouth.
“Ah, so sweet.” He murmured in enjoyment.
“Now, let’s get to the next order of business. I’d like to discuss Hanah.” He said. “You still don’t remember how we know each other?” Frozen in place, I could not answer him. The truth seemed too unbearable to face.
“I don’t think I want to know.” I answered, slowly grabbed the butter knife from the table. I pulled it down into my lap and I knew that he noticed.
“You were so sad that day, crying in the graveyard. Your pain cried out for an ending. You’d lost your grandmother. She meant the world to you,” he spoke, leaning forward, “you were only four and a half at the time, but I know you remember that moment clearly because you still dream about her. Yes, I know you very well. You were too young to turn, but I wanted to be in your life. I wanted you to know me the entire time. However, I came forth to your parents and made my proposal, they rejected me. So I killed them while you hid in the closet. I wanted you to see that no one would be able to take you from me.” I didn’t allow him to finish. My anger consumed control over my body and I flew across the table with the butter knife, plunging it deep into his chest, piercing his heart. I was shocked at the results.
    Nothing happened.
Lumar stood effortlessly off the table and pulled the butter knife from his chest, tossing the bloody knife into the bowl. Killing him the traditional way wasn’t going to work. I would have to find another way.
“I’ll leave the two of you to your meal. I want Aiden to enjoy you. When I rip him from your arms, the enjoyment will be beyond words.”
“I will die before I allow you anywhere near me.” I vowed. Lumar smiled and made adjustments to his jacket.
“My dear, I’m afraid that is the only way you or anyone else will be free of me.” He said it with such conviction that even I believed his bullshit for a moment. He left right after, and Aiden joined my side.
“I won’t let anything happen to you.” He promised. I pulled away from him and picked up the butter knife. I was determine to find a way to kill him with it.
“This isn’t just about saving the Humans and Werewolves, this just became personal. I have to go.” I said to him. Aiden grabbed my arm, preventing me from leaving.
“Absolutely not, Hanah. It’s not safe out there for you. We will find a way to stop him together.” That wasn’t enough, I wanted blood, I wanted vengeance and I wasn’t going to allow this to play out the way Lumar wanted, no matter how I felt about Aiden. There were feelings, very strong feelings, but the vengeance was much more powerful.
“Let me go Aiden. I need to get back to the Agency.” I warned.
    “NO.” Aiden’s tone was
