kiss.”
His answer surprised the heck out of her. She studied his features but, before she could question him about it, he continued.
“How about we negotiate a deal?”
“Negotiate?” She couldn’t hold back her laugh. “You are insolent, bot.”
“Adam. My name is Adam. Say it.”
He almost sounded hurt. “Okay.” She’d play his game, whatever it was. For now. “Adam,” she whispered in compliance.
“Do not call me “bot” while we are being intimate. Agreed?”
She sensed the importance of this to him. “All right, Adam. I won’t.” Intimate wasn’t something a robot would say. Uneasiness crept down her spine.
At the same time, she noticed he never used contractions in his speech, as a human or Cyborg would. He was an enigma, to be sure.
If she hadn’t already sliced his palm, she’d have definite doubts about him being a machine. But he was just a product of her brother’s advanced research or some other highly specialized programming. Nothing more. If he were otherwise, Sheera would have found the evidence during her exam. She would take a look at his internal databases herself after this was over. Her curiosity was too great not to check into his coding.
“Here is the deal. You allow me to kiss you, open mouth, with full tongue, and I will kiss you here,” his hand slid between their bodies to rest on her mound of dewy curls, “open mouth, with full tongue.”
Her body reacted instantly, and she pushed against his hand. The ecstasy of his fingers inside her, the erotic memory of him stroking her intimately, returned with full force. The thought of his tongue licking her almost sent her over the edge. By sheer willpower alone, she forced herself to stop moving and lie still. She couldn’t remember ever feeling this wet and achy. “I can order you to do that without agreeing to your deal.”
“True. But I am apt to do a better job with my tongue if you do agree.”
Tyree pressed her lips together. His meaning was clear. She supposed she could suffer through a kiss or two. Normally, she’d just say forget it and send him away. But she was stuck with him, and too worked up to open his control panel and tweak his circuits now.
She needed his tongue between her legs more than she wanted to admit. Once she experienced some sort of sexual release, even a mild one, she’d be able to think more clearly. “All right, Adam. You can kiss me. Anywhere you wish.”

Adam was pleased with the victory, both with the kiss and with her use of his name. He brushed his lips along hers, nibbled at one soft corner, then the other. When she sighed, he settled his mouth fully against her slightly parted lips. His tongue slipped inside and he explored her with slow and deliberate ease. She tasted good, like heat and spices. He teased her tongue, hoping for some response.
After a moment, she began to kiss him back. Tentatively, she pushed her tongue into his mouth. That’s right, Tyree. Show me what you need. He encouraged her with a low groan and angled his head to give her better access.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and explored his mouth, flicked his palate, sucked on his tongue. Her little moans of pleasure, and the undulation of her hips against his, made him feel like super stud of the universe.
She’d been truthful about the metallic taste of bots. He knew that. But he wasn’t a bot. His mouth and tongue were completely human, and she was responding like a woman desperate for an intimate connection. He wondered how long it had been since she was truly kissed well. He used all the skills he knew to make her crave his mouth, and more.
When he finally pulled back, he almost laughed at her shocked expression. “Advanced construction,” he offered as explanation. “I take it you like the way I taste.”
She blushed, and that show of vulnerability in her softened his heart.
“It won’t do any good to lie to you. You know I did. It was nothing like I expected. I mean, I’ve
