A Summer Wish (Summer Dream Book 4)
Chapter 1
“I’m close to the skate park. Are you near it?”
They should have met somewhere else and come to the beach together. Trying to connect via phone was getting ridiculous.
Kat had been held up on her way over and so Lillah had staked out a spot for them before it got too crowded. Now they couldn’t find each other among all the people out on a sunny Saturday morning.
“I’m coming up to it. Stand up so I can see you.”
“I will. Walk just past it, I’m right there.”
Dropping her phone into her beach bag, Lillah stood up and shielded her eyes against the brightness, trying to spot her friend. To her relief, Kat appeared a couple minutes later.
“Finally,” Lillah said as they hugged hello. “I didn’t think you were going to make it. Why’d you want to come to Venice, anyway?”
“Sorry, traffic sucked badly. I left just a little late and you know how it goes. And the restaurant where we’re meeting Dan isn’t far from here.” Kat looked her over. “Hey. You’re looking good. Really good. How are you so tanned?”
Lillah shrugged, settling back down on her beach towel. “I’ve been getting outside more than usual lately.”
“Is that right? That would be a big change for you.”
“I’ve been spending a little less time at work.” It wasn’t exactly the whole truth. Her great tan had come from spending most of her weekends at Ty and Carson’s place. When the three of them weren’t in bed, they were hanging out by the pool. It hadn’t taken too long for Lillah to get comfortable sunbathing naked like the guys did.
“Less time at work for you usually means more trips to the gym or doing yoga.” Kat looked her friend over. “And there’s something else that’s different about you. Are you seeing someone?”
“What makes you say that?” Lillah hadn’t planned on telling Kat about Ty. Or Carson.
“Oh, I can tell. You are seeing someone.” Kat took off her sunglasses and stared at Lillah. “Who is he? Details. I want details.”
Lillah sighed. Of course she would have told her best friend eventually. But she had been waiting to see where things were going first. Or even if they were going to go somewhere. She wanted more with the two guys, sure, but she couldn’t quite work out exactly what that was, or if they felt the same way as she did. She wouldn’t regret it if this turned out to be just a sexual relationship, not for a hot minute. But if it could somehow turn into more…that would be perfect.
“Okay. Remember last time you and I went to the beach? The two guys next to us that you introduced us to, and   I told you I hung out with one of them after you left?”
Kat pulled two bottles of water out of her bag, offering one to Lillah. “Of course. The gay guys?”
Lillah twisted the cap off her bottle. “They’re not gay. They’re bi.”
“Two bi guys? Interesting.” Kat put her shades back on and stretched out onto her stomach. “You mean you’re seeing one of them? Which one? They’re both so damn hot.”
“No.” Lillah rearranged herself so her head was right by Kat’s. This was not a conversation she wanted to be overheard.
“I’m seeing both of them,” she said quietly. ‘Seeing’ might be stretching it, but oh well. It just sounded better than ‘sleeping with’.
“What do you mean? You’re juggling two guys? I didn’t know you had it in you.” Kat’s eyes were wider than Lillah had ever seen them. “Good for you! I can’t think of a better way of getting past your ex than to date two hotties like those guys.”
“Kat, I’m not juggling them. I’m seeing both of them, and they’re involved with each other. They live together. We’re all…together.”
“Wait a minute. Are you saying that you’re sleeping with both of them? At the same time?” The volume of Kat’s voice made Lillah cringe.
“Yes,” she murmured. “And I’d love it if the whole beach didn’t know about it.”
    Kat rolled her eyes,
