details. Any specific night?”
“Yeah. It’s about one o’clock in the morning, so tonight will be fine.”
    Maddox laughed. “You’re on.”
No, Sam was on, on him, in every way imaginable. He’d unravel her mystery and then walk away. He always walked away.

Chapter Seven
“I’ve got another date for you,” Natalie said, sitting on Sam’s couch across from her. Sam froze, remembering how her last date went just hours before.
“I can’t, Natalie. That was just a one-shot deal. You know this.”
“You made ten thousand dollars for your effort of just having dinner. What’s the harm?”
Sam hadn’t been able to tell Natalie all that had happened on her date. She couldn’t. Some things a girl just had to keep to herself. But if she was honest with herself, she wanted to see Joel again. Natalie may think it was someone else, but Sam had a feeling that it was Joel. She didn’t know why, she just did. The way Joel acted, she was almost positive that he would want to see her again. It may not be for the same reason that she wanted to see him, but she knew that he would want to. She wanted another night to be someone other than herself, to have Joel against her one more time. Maybe then she’d have her fill of him.
All the night before she couldn’t stop thinking of him, couldn’t get his touch out of her mind. She’d masturbated more times than she could count. She wanted him between her legs again. She wanted to feel his cock pounding into her. It was sad, but it was that thought that made her interested in taking this date. If it gave her a chance to see Joel again, she was willing to risk it. She’d never been so free in her life as she had been last night in his limo. She didn’t want to have any what-ifs in her mind. She wanted to enjoy this, for however long it lasted. She just was willing to give it a shot. With a sigh, she turned back to Natalie.
“You’re right, I made ten thousand dollars. Got a chance to pay some extra bills way ahead so I don’t have to worry for a while.”
“You make enough money doing what you do, and you know it. You weren’t hurting for money, Sam.”
“Not hurting, just not able to do much extra. Another ten thousand would definitely grease some wheels.”
    “Twenty thousand.”
“Excuse me?” Sam asked, not sure she’d heard Natalie right.
“The client has offered twenty thousand for the date,” Natalie said.
If Sam hadn’t thought it was Joel before, she knew it was now. She didn’t know how she was so sure of him, but she was. Damn, I must have been good , she thought to herself.
“Twenty thousand is a lot. How can a girl say no to that?”
“Indeed. I’ll get you ready tonight, don’t worry.”
    “Natalie?”
    “Hmm?”
“Do your worst. I mean it.”
    * * * *
Natalie had outdone herself. Really. Sam was svelte, a hot mama in knee-high stiletto boots in pewter, a white sweater dress with a cowl collar, and a silver chain around her waist. The dress was tight around her hips and to midthigh, a couple inches above the boots. In her ears dangled three-tier chandelier earrings, and her hair was curled around her shoulders in delicate waves that looked like she had just rolled out of her lover’s bed. Her makeup was all smoke and neutrals. Natalie had even done her nails in a French manicure. Sam looked good, really good. She’d never have dressed herself like this. She might have to take Natalie up on going shopping after she got her twenty thousand tonight. She’d have money to spare, and she had to admit she liked the woman she turned into when she was playing Natalie.
She wasn’t Natalie, not really. She acted like herself, just let her inhibitions go. She would never be able to be the seductress who had men falling to their knees like her best friend. It just wasn’t in her. But damn, she could look like she could.
Sam walked into the restaurant that her client had chosen, an upscale one like the last one. She sat at the table,
