her, and I chose a long time ago to not drink. It never interested me. Even when Lily stole a bottle of cherry flavored vodka from her mom’s liquor cabinet, I didn’t drink it. Instead, I nursed Lily back to health from her wicked hangover the next day.
Surprisingly my mom nodded and said, “You can go, but just know, I trust you, Sadie.” She sounded stern and gave me her very serious mom face. The one that says, Don’t mess this up, this is your one chance. I hugged her and thanked her and walked to my room. Once in my room, I screamed and did a little dance. Now I could tell Nash tomorrow that I could go.
I pulled out my cell and instead of texting Lily, I sent one to Kyleigh.
Me: Hey Kyleigh! What do you know about this party tomorrow night?
Kyleigh: It’s going to be wicked. It’s the first party of summer. Y? You going?
Me: Yep. With Nash.
Kyleigh: Eww! Please go with anyone besides Nash Rylan. PLS!!!
I took a deep, sharp breath after reading her text. What did she have against Nash? Did they once date? Now I was worried.
Me: Why?
Kyleigh: Make ur own choices, Sadie. Just don’t say I didn’t warn you about football players or Nash.
I understood now. She thought that football players were jerks. Before I met Nash, I might have said the same. Hell, I know I said that before! But he was different, and I would prove it tomorrow night.

The second day of summer school was more exciting than the first. I found the same parking spot as the day before. Parked my car, grabbed my stuff and entered the gates. To my utter surprise Nash was waiting for me with a grin on his face. God, he was beautiful.
I looked down at my outfit today; a floral skirt with tank and cowgirl boots. I loved feeling girly, and I especially loved the way Nash looked at me when I approached. It was like he was looking at me for the first time; drinking me in each step that I walked toward him.
“Boy, you are a sight for sore eyes, Sadie. I’ll tell you right now, you better wear that skirt tonight,” he ordered as he pecked me on the cheek. “You are coming tonight, right?”
I smiled and nodded. “Yep. Got the clear to go.”
“Awesome. I’ll be at your house then at eight to pick you up.” I froze. My house? I couldn’t let him pick me up and risk my mom seeing him already. I had to ease her into this new relationship. I had to think fast. “Uh, I’ll have to meet you there if that’s okay.”
He looked me in the eyes like he could see something amazing in them and said, “Sure thing, cutie. I’ll text you the address.”
Thank God, I didn’t have to go into why. He let it go and walked me to my class. Before he left, he bent down and hugged me. “See you at lunch.”
“Yep. See you,” I mumbled. I’d heard of not being able to talk when in the presence of hot guys, but this was ridiculous. I was dumbstruck when he looked at me like he did. He walked away, and I waved.
“You going in or you gonna stand by the door all day?”
I looked up at the guy I was blocking. “Oh, sorry.”
“Yeah. You’re so entranced by Nash Rylan that you don’t know where you are, do you?”
“Huh?” I asked him shaking my head. What did he mean?
“ Never mind. You’re just another girl in his trance, that’s all,” he said as he walked away from me. I grabbed him and stopped him. “What the hell does that mean?” I was offended. I wasn’t some dumb follower who couldn’t make up her own mind. And who was this guy to suggest that I was like any other girls?
He shook his arm out of my grip. “It means all the girls at this school are the same as you, in love with Nash.” He said the last part in a girly voice. Then said, “Trust me, you can do better.”
I huffed past this guy who was so obviously jealous and sat in my seat. To my utter dislike, he sat next to me. I scowled at him, and he didn’t even notice. He just shook his shaggy brown hair out of his eyes and stared straight at the
