lately.” Truthfully, it was no fun without him here. We didn’t talk that much when he was around, but we’d watch some television, or he’d read to me. A girl could fall in love with a man who read.
    “I’m sorry, Ana. I miss you. It’s taking a little longer than I expected with the weather going wild.” I hated to hear that. I got the feeling that he wasn’t going to be back today like Laura said last night.
    “Of course, I can’t risk not hearing my sweet Ana’s voice.” The man pushed the limits of my resistance with his sweet talking.
    “Babe, I just called to tell you it’ll be awhile, but I got to go. Talk to you later.”
    “See you, William,” I said goodbye and hung up.
    ~~~~~
    He was two days late, but Laura told me he’d be coming home today. My head was all over the place wondering if Santini had done something to him or he met up with some chick. Laura told me that he was once a bull rider, and from what I heard the guys say, bull riders get tons of women. They called them buckle bunnies, and I got immediately jealous. Thoughts of him welcoming a woman to his hotel room while I was laying in his bed made me cry.
    Laura knocked just as I shook off the tears. “Just a minute,” I called out, the sound of tears caught in my throat. I closed my eyes because she didn’t hesitate to enter.
    “What’s wrong?”
    “Nothing.”
    “Come on now. Don’t make me call Will. He’ll be very upset and drive faster to get here.”
    “He’s on his way?”
    “Yes, he’s already on the road. Is that what’s bothering you?”
    “Yes, and…well,”
    “What?”
    “That he’s meeting up with some woman.”
    “Honey, there’s some things you need to talk to Will about, but I assure you that he’s not meeting any women while he’s got the woman he’d do anything for waiting for him.”
    “Thanks. I think I’m becoming too addicted to him,” I admitted.
    “I don’t think he would agree with that. He wants you crazy about him as much as he’s nuts about you.”
    “Thanks, Laura,” I said appreciatively.
    “There’s lunch ready for you. The remaining guys are just finishing up.”
    I went down for some lunch then came back up before Will returned. He got antsy when he thought I was roaming the area without him. He acted like he was the only person capable of protecting me, but I was starting to understand that he was paranoid that Santini would get me when he wasn’t around or that I would fall for one of his men. Silly man.
    I had started watching some TV when I heard the gates. It was the fastest I’d gotten to the window yet. I saw the truck pull up and knew he was back. Mentally, I jumped up and down like a kid at Christmas. Physically, I just stared out the window waiting for him to climb out of the truck. It seemed to take forever. Biting my lip to stop the squeal of pleasure as I saw the truck door pop open, the first boot hit directly on the driveway, and I swore I could hear the boot crush the gravel.
    A moan slipped past my mouth, and it was like he had heard it. His eyes trained upward, looking into my window. He smiled up at me causing me to return it like a giddy fool.
    It was then that he ran to the house and through the door. I heard the fast footsteps coming up the stairs in a hurry. Before I knew it, my handsome cowboy burst through the door, wrapping his arms around me. His eyes stared into mine, his intent was clear. They lowered to my mouth, I immediately bit my lip.
    “I missed you, sugar,” he growled, his lips followed his eyes. The kiss was perfect. His strong jaw clenched as he nipped at my lips before pushing them apart with his tongue. I moaned, feeling like I could never get enough.
    Our kiss intensified to the point where he held me so tight, I yelped. The instant he heard my cry of pain everything stopped. We both froze for a second before he stepped back and guilt flooded his expression.
    “I’m so sorry, Ana.”
    “It’s okay. You didn’t do it on
