truck, baby." Mo wrapped her arms around her man's neck and hugged him tight.
"It's all about you, ma. You know that." He pulled her away from the crowd, hugging her back just as tight. "But why you got these tight-ass jeans on?"
    "Come on, Quan, don't start."
"I'm just sayin' though, ma, look at the way you got these thirsty-ass niggas staring at you. They can barely keep they tongue in they mouth. I don't like that shit. You gon' fuck around and make me have to put one in a muthafucka." "I can't help that I have a cute shape. There ain't nothing I can do about that."
"Whateva, conceited, just watch what you put on when you around my boys from now on, alright."
"A'ight, a'ight, whateva, but how did you get down here?
All of your cars were still in the garage when I left home."
"I had West come get me. We had to take care of some business, but I'm done now, so I'm tryin' to spend the day wit you."
    "Word, that's what's up?"
"Yep, so c'mon." Quan took her by the waist and led her out the shop and over to her truck.
    "This muthafucka fly, ain't it?"
"Hell yeah! These bitches really gon' be hatin' now," Mo boasted as she passed him the keys and slid into the passenger seat.
    "So, baby, where we going?"
"It's a surprise. Just sit back and chill. I got this." Twenty-five minutes later, they pulled up to Spanish Lake.
"Quan, I can't believe you remembered!" Mo exclaimed excitedly as she jumped out of the truck. She loved being near lakes, oceans and waterfalls. The sound of water trickling or splashing just soothed her.
"We haven't been here in years!"
"I know. I figured you'd be happy," he replied, meeting her in the front of the car.
"Yes. Baby, thank you. I love you so much." She hugged him tight.
    "I love you too, ma."
Gently holding her hand, Quan led Mo over to the lake. It couldn't have been a more beautiful day. The sun was beam-ing brightly from the sky and not a cloud was in sight. There was a slight breeze in the air causing the tree branches to sway from side to side, but other than that it was perfect summer day. For the first time in a long time, Mo felt whole.
Moments like this made her remember why she loved Quan so much. He felt the same way. Putting a smile on her face and making her happy was all he cared about.
She was his everything. There was nobody in the world he trusted or needed more. Mo was most definitely wifey material. Quan loved her more than she knew. She was the apple of his eye; just looking at her brightened up his day. Mo was his best friend, his lover and his reason for living and breathing.
Her smile made him smile. When she hurt he hurt. She completed him and stayed on his mind at all times.
Mo thought that he didn't give a fuck about her or her feelings, but he really, truly did. She was the reason he grinded so hard in the streets. She was his reason for everything.
Quan knew it was his fault her feelings weren't the same.
There was a time when all he had to do was walk in the room to make Mo smile. But now it seemed like the only thing that made her happy were trinkets and gifts.
"This is so nice," she sighed, leaning her head up against his chest as they gazed at the lake.
    "Yeah it is."
"I wish we could spend more days like this together."
"Me too, but you know a nigga gotta make moves, ma."
"I know. It's just that I hate all the arguing and fighting we've been doing lately. I just want things to go back to the way they used to be. Like ... remember when we used to catch the bus together?"
"That was so fuckin' long ago. A nigga was straight bus-passin' it back then." Quan laughed, shaking his head at the thought. "Yo, remember when before I got my Cutlass I used to pick you up in crack head Willie's car?" "Yeah, I could've killed you! Had me ridin' around in that car thinkin' it was yours." Mo giggled.
"And remember when yo' ole dude caught me in yo' room that day when you was supposed to be at school?"
"How could I forget? My daddy beat my ass when you left." Mo
