her heart started to beat like a drum. “Does it really matter? You can't always control these things ...” she said.
“I’d still be pissed,” he said.
    “What would you do?”
Bruce, one hand in his pocket, took a sip of wine, leaned against the bar and looked at the ceiling. He whispered, “What would I do...?”
Jennifer could see that he was thinking about something. He had a blank stare in his eyes, and he suddenly looked extremely preoccupied. What's going on in his mind?
    “Are you okay, Bruce?”
Bruce looked at her and finished his glass. “And you Aleksandra. What would you do?”
He looked at her as if he was trying to dig inside her soul. Jennifer looked down; he had taken her completely off guard. What the hell am I supposed to say?
“I don't really know,” she said. “I never thought about it, but I guess... I guess I would try to understand. If that person is really special, I would make compromises; or even sacrifices.”
“Hum, I see,” he said, thinking. “I don't know if I could do the same honestly... I hate people who lie.”
They both kept silent for a moment, looking at each other. The atmosphere in the room had suddenly changed and was now tense. Jennifer was sweating. Is he saying that to me? Does he know my true identity? Why does he seem so mysterious and distant all of a sudden? Maybe he knows, and he's really disappointed. Maybe he...
Her thoughts were interrupted when Bruce came out of the bar and approached her. From her seat, she had to tip her head back to look at him. From this angle, he looked really impressive, his broad shoulders and massive chest intimidating. He looked her straight in the eyes, with the dominant expression that she’d seen many times at the office. My God, he's going to fire me...
“It's been another great day,” he said. “I think I really like you.”
    What?
Then, he leaned forward, grabbed her head between his large hands and kissed her sensually. Jennifer, who expected Bruce to get mad at her, was completely speechless. Before she could say anything, he turned his back and waved his hand, walking back to his bedroom.
My God, that was a hot kiss!
Jennifer felt dizzy, her head spinning. Clearly, I can’t continue like this. I have to do something. I can’t handle the pressure anymore. The joke has gone too far now, it’s time to stop. The longer I wait, the harder it will be for me to get out of it. Tomorrow morning, 8:00 a.m. sharp, I will tell him everything.

Chapter Five
W hen Jennifer opened her eyes, the sun was already high in the sky. Her naked body was wrapped in the silk bed sheets, and she felt hungry. She grabbed her cellphone to check the time. 12:00 p.m. What? Oh no, where's Bruce? I have to talk to him, now!
She quickly got out of bed, and saw an envelope on the floor, next to the door. She picked it up and opened it immediately.
    Dear Aleksandra,
Unfortunately, I won't be able to spend the day with you. I have to prepare an important contract for next week, but I should be done by the end of the afternoon.
As soon as you wake up, just go downstairs and call Gerard, my butler. He will bring you anything you want to eat. If you need anything, just ask him.
I gave him special instructions to take care of you.
    See you tonight.
    Bruce.
She read the message twice, and realized she wouldn’t be able to tell him the truth. Not until the end of the day, that is.
She went to the bathroom, thinking Bruce was probably working on his deal with Mr. Sakamura. She took a shower, put on her makeup and got dressed. As she looked at herself in the mirror, in her luxurious room, she couldn't help but think this was all crazy.
There she was, sleeping in Bruce's mansion, treated like a princess when in fact, she was lying to him. It looked so unreal. Just a few days ago, she was simply his overworked assistant. And now, her head was filled with memories and experiences she’d never known before.
But she also knew it couldn't
