of her greatest qualities, from her
elegant long legs, to her sexy hourglass figure and those very biteable
breasts. It was also the first time I had seen Miranda wearing her hair up. I
could feel my trousers start to bulge, as my mind betrayed me with highly sexual
thoughts.
‘Sorry,’ giggled Sheridan. ‘So, Nathan, do you have a girlfriend?’ she
asked.
‘Don’t ask such personal questions,’ snapped Miranda, but I could see
from the slight look of concern in her eyes that she didn’t know if I had a
girlfriend or not.
‘I do not,’ I replied more to Miranda than Sheridan.
Miranda smiled her beautiful smile at me.
‘But, I have just started seeing a really amazing woman,’ I grinned.
My words fell on deaf ears, as Sheridan and Pete began to make out again.
‘Shall me go upstairs?’ asked Pete.
He suddenly realised all eyes were on him.
‘And listen to music,’ he quickly added.
    ‘Yes, music,’ Sheridan grinned.
The two of them rushed out the kitchen, hand in hand, and bounded up the
stairs. A door slammed shut on the next floor up and the muffled sound of loud
music started to boom through the ceiling.
‘The two of them spend more time fucking each other than they do talking,’
explained Miranda, as she pulled something out of her purse. ‘I tried to
explain to her that what she felt with him was not love but lust, but Sheridan
will not listen.’ Miranda help up a gold chained necklace. ‘Can you help me?’
she asked.
    ‘Sure.’
I walked around the kitchen counter and took the chain in my hands.
Miranda sat with her back to me on one of the stools. ‘She will only end up
having her heart broken. I mean, have you seen the way he looks at her?’ I
lowered the chain around her neck. ‘All he wants is to have his way with her
and, Sheridan, is a little too eager to please in my opinion. She will do
anything he asks her, and I mean anything, no matter how degrading. Thank you,’
she added, as the necklace hung around her elegant neck.
‘She needs to find a man who loves her,’ I whispered.
My fingers gently stroked the curve of Miranda’s swan like neck. Miranda
tilted her head to one side and offered me her neck. A sweet little sigh
escaped her mouth, as I pressed my lips against her neck.
‘She needs to find a man who makes her feel like a princess.’
My hand stroked downwards against her soft skin, as I reached inside her
dress. I ran a line of gentle kisses down her neck and along her shoulder, as I
cupped her firm breast within the palm of my hand.
‘I want to make love to you, Nathan.’ she whispered.
And then I said something I didn’t believe I would ever say to a woman.
‘Miranda, I think I am falling for you.’
Miranda pulled my hand from her top and stood up to face me.
‘What did you just say?’ she sounded almost angry.
‘What’s wrong?’ I asked. The demon of my shyness laughed deep with my
soul and I suddenly felt very small and stupid. I turned my eyes towards the
floor.
‘I…’ Miranda began, but the sound of doorbell cut her off.
I reached out a hand, as she rushed by me, but she was gone. Miranda
hurried down the hallway and opened the front door. An overweight balding man
in a suit greeted her with a smug smile. His eyes dropped to her breasts and he
didn’t care who noticed. Miranda took one last look at me before closing the
front door behind her.
‘What did I say?’ I dropped my head into my hands. ‘I’ve ruined
everything.’
    * * *
After making myself dinner I headed up to my room. My mind was racked
with thoughts of Miranda, as I replayed what I said in the kitchen over and
over again inside my head. Everything had been going so smoothly until I told her
that I was falling for her, but I have never felt these feelings before, but
perhaps I said too much too soon. She was married after all and had a daughter.
Does this mean things are over between us?
I turned off my bedroom light and lit a candle on top of my chest
