evening was unusually warm, that wasn't saying much for Northern Michigan, and I knew I'd appreciate the warmth of the fire later on that night, when the temperature would likely drop into the thirties.

On the other side of an open hallway bordering the side of the living room, there was a small kitchen area with stove and oven, refrigerator, and a small, circular wooden table with four chairs. Dry goods, mostly bins of cereals and grains, filled the shelves of a deep pantry, and the refrigerator was stocked with plenty of fresh food.

I hoped this meant I'd be in charge of making my own meals and wouldn't have to eat with the wolves. Though, I realized, the well-stocked kitchen could possibly mean I'd be cooking for everyone and sharing meals with everyone as well, a thought that disgusted me. I wasn't sure how I'd manage to choke down food around bloodthirsty wolves.

However, at the same time I had this thought, it struck me that despite the fact that they were wolves, and alphas at that, Grayson and Chase hadn't been exactly acting like wild, murderous monsters, and it stood to reason that maybe their pack didn't act like monsters, either.

I knew I'd maybe misjudged the wolves at least a little, though time would tell by just how much. I knew it was possible that Grayson and Chase just hadn't displayed their murderous, bloodthirsty sides to me yet . But I knew one thing for sure. They were absolutely cruel, at least when it came to things of a sexual nature. At least when it came to making a young woman wear a Tickler and then leaving her alone to her own devices, to walk around a cabin, while nearly panting with desire.

Beyond the kitchen, one corner of the cabin was reserved for a simple sleeping space with a large bed, nightstand, and dresser. Adjacent, in the opposite corner of the cabin, was a decent-sized bathroom with sink, toilet, and a claw-footed porcelain tub with an attached showerhead. I knew I'd likely be making good use of this tub. Back in Greenleaf, the tiny apartment Skye and I had shared with another young woman had only been outfitted with a shower stall barely big enough to turn around in. I'd always felt a little deprived of bubble baths.

The place certainly wasn't grand, but it was clean and cozy, and I was glad it had electric lights and indoor plumbing. Some homes in my poverty-stricken hometown didn't have either.

Still wanting to keep myself distracted and busy until Grayson and Chase returned, I unpacked my things and organized my clothing in the dresser. But I was too fast. I had both my suitcase and duffel bag emptied in under ten minutes.

The Tickler was beginning to have a profound effect on me. Back in the truck, I'd begun to develop a very distinct, frustrating ache low in my belly, and that ache was now becoming nearly unbearable. My nipples were also aching, still stiffened and rubbing uncomfortably against the fabric of my lacy bra. They were also tingly, as was my most sensitive spot, which was still being stroked almost imperceptibly by the slow, rhythmic undulations of the Tickler. I could feel that my underwear were almost completely soaked with slickness.

I sat down on the edge of the large, firm-yet-comfortable bed, suddenly angry. Angry at myself for allowing the Tickler to have such an extreme effect on me. Angry that I hadn't been able to fight off my arousal. Angry at Grayson and Chase for leaving me alone in the cabin. Angry at them for making me actually want to mate with them. For making me actually desperate to mate with them.

I'd clutched the thick blanket covering the bed without even being aware of the action, and now I realized I was gripping it so hard my knuckles were white. With my jaw clenched, I forced myself to begin breathing through my nose slowly, thinking. It wasn't fair that Grayson and Chase had forced me to wear the Tickler and then had just left me.

It wasn't very compassionate, or kind, or considerate.
