two. They leaned down and kissed her gently.
“Maybe I am sexually adventurous enough to hang out with you guys?” she sighed.
“You kept your man-crazy side well hidden,” Dean agreed.
“We may never let you leave.” Steve brushed her hair back again from her face.
Clay held her tighter and dropped soft kisses on her shoulder. She kissed his cheek and let all the unique sensations sink into her body.
Chapter Three
Ever the early riser, Dean turned off the oil lamps and flipped on the restored power. He checked on the few animals in the big barn out back that served as his office. Feeding, cleaning and walking accomplished, he surveyed the area. One big tree was down at the back of the property, but nothing else appeared damaged. Still, he couldn’t imagine his tech would make it in today.
The driveway had standing water at the end. The streets were still ankle deep or more. He refused to wade and investigate further in with deadly snakes being a real hazard. Clay’s decision to stay over was a plus, giving them reliable transportation. Dean’s all-wheel Jeep was efficient for getting through most terrain, but the massive pickup looked like an ark of safety in comparison.
Heading inside, the fun memories hit him. Kacy clearly didn’t like the good-girl label and had taken advantage of the opportunity to lose it. In high school, she’d attended each prom and homecoming dance but was always watching her sisters, so they didn’t get drunk and do something dumb. She’d never been the type to put herself out there at parties or dances. But that didn’t mean she wasn’t doing stuff in private. Dean was amazed she hadn’t found someone. Maybe it was because she needed more than one?
Dean had always admired her strength and self-respect. Last night he’d equally admired and enjoyed the other side of her. Deeply passionate and highly sexual, she needed a man. Or two…or three.
Steve padded into the kitchen and hugged Dean from behind, kissing his shoulder. “Morning.”
The scent of toothpaste and the heat of Steve’s strong form made Dean feel safe and at home. They’d built a good life, and adding people to it had been a little scary but not threatening the way Dean had feared. “Hi. We should get one of those whole house backup generators.”
“Pricey. We can rough it once in a while.” Steve ran his hands under Dean’s shirt. “Did you have fun last night?”
“Of course, didn’t you?” Dean smiled.
“Sure. She’s not like the parties. Kacy is different.” Steve smiled.
“Yes, just don’t push. No rushing Clay or Kacy. We need to see how it develops.” Dean slipped from Steve’s arms to start on pancakes.
“I’m not going to rush. I just don’t want her to pretend nothing happened.” Steve grabbed a pound of bacon from the fridge. “Nice and cold still. Good thing we weren’t without power for long.”
“Just focus on the town today. And the generator could cover the barn, as well. The animals need fans, too. It was humid as hell in there.” Dean never liked camping or roughing it.
“We’ll price one out, but you do a lot of free stuff or trade. A generator requires cash.” Steve let the bacon sizzle.
Clay wandered in fresh from the shower with a big grin. “Morning guys.”
He kissed Steve then Dean. The fact that Clay had stopped tensing up over the affection made Dean happy. As much as Clay craved men in bed, it’d taken a while for him to stop censoring himself when clothed.
“Where’s our lady guest?” Dean asked.
“Shower. I showed her where everything is, but she’s a little jittery today.” Clay poured coffee and sniffed the milk first. “Not a bad development even if it had to come with a storm and flooding.”
“The roads have standing water. We’ll need your truck to get to the school gym.” Dean flipped pancakes as Steve turned the bacon.
“No problem.” Clay shrugged.
“Why didn’t you shower with Kacy?” Steve
