straw bundles had been converted to
pure gold yarn. The little demons.
It must have been them, Damien's minions. She knew for sure that
it was the Lord of Darkhaven that had sent the tiny creatures to help
her. She slowly traveled the room from floor to ceiling. The gold
strands glittered brightly.
The moment her eyes settled on the suspicious expression of duke
DeMumart. Her composure stiffened. She suddenly realized that her
face must betray the obvious, so she quickly forced herself to be stoic
and nonchalant.
She stepped down onto a large bail of golden yarn and climbed
carefully down until she was standing on the ground again.
She faced DeMumart and threw her head back, her express
haughty, "You see my lord, it is done." Elise motioned to the tons of
gold strands piled around the room.
Her eyes never left the Duke's haggard features while he walked a
circle around her.
"Impressive little maiden." He stopped to loom over her once
again. "A little too impressive!"
Elise took a step back. His humid breath fanned across her face.
Although she had the urge to run, she held her ground. "I said I could
do it, and as you see I have! It is your turn to keep the bargain."
Duke DeMumart, turned abruptly, clenching and un-clenching his
bony hands. He clasped them behind his back and swung around. His
bizarre gaze bore into her.
She felt a strange sharp pain stab her stomach and winced slightly.
The Duke snarled silently. His lips tightened into a thin line. "We
shall see."

The Knight helped Elise down from the carriage in front of her
small cottage. Right after the Duke had examined the golden yarn
that had once been straw, he summoned his men to take her home.
Much to her dismay there was no other word said about her fate now
that she had "proven" her worth to the King.
It discerned her tremendously. Something was amiss. She could
feel the anxiousness build in her chest as she crossed the threshold of
their small home. Her fears were confirmed when she saw her father
reading a letter, that had the King's seal on it.
He turned and looked at her, his eyes looked bleary. Wet streaks
moistened his cheeks.
He shook his head. Elise ran to him, "What is it Papa? Lord
Dontaleone's magic worked and the impossible task is done.
Shouldn't this be a happy occasion?"
He shook his head slowly and handed her the letter.

CHAPTER FIVE
Elise paced back and forth before Damien. "You see, another
task!"
She momentarily stopped wringing her small hands together to
point a shaking finger at the letter she had given him.
Damien quirked a dark brow. "I see."
Elise stopped mid stride and jerked around to look at him. "You
see? How am I to weave a thousand baskets of gold, fill them with
jeweled fruit?" She fisted her hands at her sides, "Surely even your
magic couldn't possibly, argh!" she shook her head, "it is hopeless!"
She wrung her hands together nervously, staring up at him with
anxious pleading etched on her pretty face.
Damien smirked. He enjoyed watching Elise so flustered. Her face
flushed red with pent up anger. She exhibited no pretense and no
qualms about expressing her displeasure with his nonchalance.
It made his cock hard. This tiny girl all but challenged him. For
the first time in eons, Damien felt truly alive.
Elise paced before him, her tiny fists clenched at her side. He
licked his lips. An instant later, they were in his bedroom.
"Wh-where are we?" She whipped around to stare at him. Her
expression creased with fear and confusion.
Damien walked slowly towards her. He ran his eyes up and down
her body, knowing that it unnerved her. The moment he stared her in
the face again, her clothing evaporated from her body. Elise gasped.
Quickly, she wrapped her arm over her breasts and tried to cover her
sex with the other hand.
Raising an eyebrow, Damien smirked at her futile attempt to cover
herself.
He reached out and ran the back of his hand down her
