me. I have a goddess on my arm, with me for the night. Egypt is, without question, a woman that every man wants, yet careful to desire.
The band covers Duke Ellington & John Coltrane ’s “In A Sentimental Mood.” Taking Egypt into my arms, she doesn’t resist, instead she falls into my warmth and my spirit. I’m comfortable having her in my embrace. She is so familiar to me. Like a soft strain of love.
Her hands cover both sides of my neck and my arms wrap around her waist. I lean in, place my face onto her shoulder, kiss it softly, inhale the sweet aroma that is her. I kiss her shoulder again as we rock side to side. Enjoying the horns and piano as they play a sweet melody made exclusively for us two. This is our night and our song, and our world is perfect. We don’t say a word. I look in her eyes. She smiles.
Pulling her in closer. I need for Egypt to feel me. I want her to know that this ain’t no game, that I’m not a joke. I don’t want her ass, alone, I want her. I kiss her neck. She allows it. I feel her exhale. Oooh, the thoughts of kissing her turns into kissing her, fantasy meets reality, makes me high. I’m dizzy.
She leans in, whispers in my right ear, “I love the way your lips feel.” She brushes her face up against my cheek. She kisses my cheek. Pulls back.
I move in closer, pull her to me. No more space for any more heat to fill. The space is gone. All taken up by two people, two spirits greeting, trying to become that one entity of love. I move in, kiss her cheek, whisper in her ear, “I’m a happy man tonight, Egypt. Thank you.” I’m still in her ear, but I feel her smile, I feel her breathe-its staggered, like butterflies are fucking with her rhythm. She is gradually getting to a state I’ve been in for quite some time. Can’t get right until it gets right.
                  I look in her eyes.
“You know I’ve been wanting you for so long.” I kiss her forehead.
She gives me a sweet peck on my lips. She exhales a nervous puff of satisfaction when the man she had been longing for admitted that he needed her.
“Happy, because I’ve been wanting you even longer, King.”
                  “Hungry?”
                  “For?” she smiles.
I rock her side to side. Laugh out loud. “Look at ya nasty ass. Are you hungry for food? Wanna eat?”
                  Embarrassed, she responds, “Yes.”
We walk together, hand in hand and make our way back to our table.
Mellow jazz fills the air. The center of our table houses a crystal bowl filled with liquid and floating candles. A floor-length window allows for us to view the snow as it falls. We order our meals.
My queen plays with the rim of her drink with her fingertip. She circles it, grabs the glass. I touch her hand. Cover it with mine. She stiffens. Looks up to me. I move in closer to her.
“I like your hair.” Taking my left hand, I brush dangling loose curls away from her face.
    “What are we doing, King?”
“Making sure we don’t miss this opportunity.”
I continue to brush her hair. She takes a sip of her drink. Smiles, slightly.
“You wear those locks well.” She leans in, softly caresses a few of them that hang onto my shoulder.
Taking the drink from her hand, I place the glass to my lips. Take a sip.
“You like the way that tastes, King?”
    “Yes.”
    “You kept kissing my shoulder.”
“I’ve been thinking about that a lot.”
I slide the drink back to my queen. Our food arrives. I stand up, take my baby’s napkin, unfold it, lay it across her lap. Take my seat.
